“Good value hotel in a convenient location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 August 2014

We've stayed here on a regular basis for years.Hotel in East Perth is within walking distance to CBD. Takes 10 - 15 mins to Hay/Murray St Malls. There is a free Cat bus about 5 mins walk from hotel to Malls and Wellington St station. Buses nearly opposite hotel go to Fremantle, Subiaco and Claremont.
Most rooms were fully refurbished about 4 years' ago. Most are studio, and in various configurations. Usually have queen/twin bed, settee, desk, small dining table and 2 chairs & at least microwave, fridge and kettle. Beds are comfortable. Most rooms have very small bathrooms with little room for manoeuvre. No hair dryer. Laundries on 3 floors. Need 3 $1 dollar coins for washing machine and same for dryer.
The Goodearth is one of few hotels in Perth that offers free parking, although there are increasingly few bays available. Hotel also has on street parking from 6 pm to 8 am.
Hotel restaurant is OK. Haven't eaten there for a while, but in the past very good service. Bar meals are good value.

Conference room was adequate, although right at the back of the building. IT set up was adequate. The morning breakfast food was plentiful, reasonably priced and adequate. I stayed overnight at the sister hotel, the Perth Ambassador just opposite.

Room Tip: Higher floors are less noisy

Stayed 5 nights. Was worried after reading other reviews but would definitely stay again. We were in room 626 and apart from the odd door closing didn't hear any other noise. Whilst the bathroom was very small, room was large and clean, bed comfortable and great quality towels. Didn't eat in the restaurant but it was always full.

Room Tip: Room on a higher level away from lift

This hotel is a solid 3-star. Everything was clean and comfortable and the hotel is well-placed for visitors to Perth. Three complaints though....

First...hair dryers are available but have to be requested from reception. I'd prefer something well-secured but already in the room.

Second...they've gone to a sort of all-hotel air con system that means you cannot adjust the temperature in your individual room. My room at 23oC was pleasant for just moving about in the room but WAY TOO HOT for sleeping and I had no way to adjust! Very very frustrating.

Third...parking is available but in actual fact, the miniscule parking garage was totally full and I ended up parking across the street for $12/night. Inconvenient and frustrating when parking is advertised.

Arrived about midnight after a long flight from New Zealand. Wanting a good sleep but having a room near the lifts made this near impossible. Otherwise, the room was comfortable and the breakfast excellent. Would stay again but well away from the lifts.

I stayed for almost a week. There is underground parking but had to put coins in metre outside until booked in as need security code for underground free car park. Reception staff friendly and helpful though did not tell me there was lift from car park back up to lobby and I got caught in rain walking back to lobby via street. Rooms reasonable size and very clean. Kitchen has full size fridge small freezer microwave and gas stove top, enought pots pans etc for two. You have to eat at breakfast bar or on you knee as no dining table. TV had cable and free wifi which was reasonable fast. Bathroom in great condition water nice and hot etc. i did not dine in the restraunt but was told by other guests it was good. Its at the quieter end of city so no nightclubs keeping you awake and a short walk or free bus ride (3 stops) to main shopping district train etc Some rooms have views of swan river. Good value being so close to centre of CBD

Room Tip: If traveling alone, Take change for parking metre as need to book in for code for free underground p...
