Had a great lunch recently and enjoyed the food, wine and service. Good spot for a lazy lunch if you have time. Loved the pate and oysters. Presentation was good and serves generous.

Friendly booking and promises of improved service were the only highlights. It was all downhill from there last Wednesday. The special of the day was Vitello Tonnato, but the mayonnaise that was hidden from view by the veal slices did not have a hint of tuna or anything else. The mayo was either so overprocessed in the kitchen that it perfectly matched the bottled variety or it was just that. The main course Papardelle with Duck ragu was ruined by a surfeit of salad onions neither caramelised nor balanced - just heaps of translucent slices that ruined what was otherwise a promising sauce. A plate of selected cheese arrive. But what was on the platter escaped the waitress who had not been trained to tell us what we were being served. When help arrived and the huge hunk of chalkiness at the ore of the French Brie was pointed out it was accepted with a " yes underripe"! That was that. The final indignity was to be served two glasses of off wine. When this was pointed out and a new bottle was opened and the difference in colour and bouquet was greeted with innocent incredulity by the waitress. All these issues were pointed out to the Maitre D , who acknowledged that they been brought to his attention and they would go in his shift report. No apologies, thanks or offers of anything at all. Just handover your card ansd pay as if it matched what we thought we had ordered. I left my card in case they were interesednin following up. Nothing. So they deserve a review that reflects their poor performance. We fled to Print Hall for a reviver and a coffee!

A group of friends went to a show and then decided to have a late dinner. We arrived at The Trustee around 9.30pm and was thankful to find somewhere in Perth where the kitchen doesn't shut at 9pm on the dot (even on Friday and Saturday nights), like 99% of Perth restaurants!

The service was fabulous - polite, friendly, attentive and exceptionally quick. The food was delicious. The menu isn't large but caters for most, with meat eaters being favoured. The serving sizes were extremely generous, which was a pleasant surprise compared to other Perth restaurants of this standard, which usually serve up half of these size portions!

Will definitely return to this fabulous vibrant restaurant, and hope for similar service and deluxe food. Will be interesting to see if it makes such an impression at peaks times around 7.30-8pm....

My husband and I went to this restaurant last night. We absolutely loved the food we had the beef shared for two. Our waitress recommend that we have a starter each so we had the asparagus and the olives but realistically it was just too much - would just stick to the main since it was sooo big. The sides of the main were really good!
To the negatives - we thought the lighting was really dark (we were seated near the window) had to read the menu up to the light and I usually like restaurants with not much light but this was a bit too dark. Also it was very cold had to keep my jacket on the whole time - looked like everyone else felt the same since they had there jackets on too.
We ordered a Italian wine the montepulciano abruzzo red wine but when she presented it I couldn't really see the label so I just assumed it was that one because it was in Italian anyway she opened it and it was until she walked away I realised that it was something completely different (same price thankfully) so guess it was too late to let them know, so was quite disappointed in myself that I didn't realise since I was excited to have the abruzzo wine. Last negative comment is that our espresso coffees were bitter so not happy with that. Overall it was a good experience, service was fast/friendly and the food was beautiful!!! Though think it would be better in summer and during the day since all the by fold doors open and of course not so dark.

A staff conference was ruined with an overtly expensive get rubbish service night at the Trustee.
Started ok when we were at pre dinner drinks in their bar . More staff and service than we needed. Yup, expensive drinks that pay !
The 25 odd staff was restricted by Trustee staff to a set menu, ok can't be that bad ?
As we sat down, we went from 4 staff to one, who treated us like trash from the gutter.
The meals where either salty or tasteless mass produced rubbish. I have never been so embarrassed as I watched over half the staff push meals aside.
As for a drink , forget that , two of the business owners had to get drinks and serve the table. At one instance we had no service for over 40 minutes.
This place is ok for tables of 4 , past that they don't have a clue.
