“St George's Cathedral”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 November 2013

St George's Cathedral is on st George's Terrace and in close proximity to the main shopping area of the city. It is an old Cathedral and can be a bit cold. We thoroughly enjoyed the summer programme of free classical music which they put on every year. I was able to partake of its evensong on two occasions after which a food festival was put on. Worth a visit, very close to Barrack Street and the Ferry Terminal.

“A cathedral with charm and character”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 November 2013

This was not in our planned itinerary. We stumbled into it while walking to the Treasury Building which was under renovation. We saw this beautiful brick church and decided to have a peek. The interior is quite beautiful with the stained glass. There is an ornate wrought iron spiral staircase at one end of the church that lead to the loft (although the public can't go up). You can see the big pipes of the organ and the big trumpets from below. This is the only church I've seen with big trumpets in Australia. We were allowed to take pictures. The volunteer ladies in the church were friendly and helpful with information. Well worth a stop when in the CBD.

“Beautiful”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 September 2013

This building is magnificent - it sits in the middle of the city and there is a marvellous sculpture that depicts St George and the Dragon at the front, which is eye-catching. It's easy to fine and beautiful to see.

“Mothers Day church organ concert recital”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2013

I took my mum for something different for mothers day. The church itself is quite magnivicent and the recital was very nice too, by a young chap from Switzerland. A little disappointed I didn't know any of the music pieces he played and they were a little repetitive at times. The set up was very good overall and it is lovely to see these fabulous old buildings being used to host these sort of events.
