We travelled in a group of 6 (family with 2 kids, and our 2 elderly mothers). We booked two rooms, one Family room and one standard twin room. Recep staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The accommodation is basic, no frills and value for money. Location is ok, though I fancy it a bit out of the way from the shopping mall or eating places at Northbridge. Was a bit of a walk for the kids and older folk, if not taking the CAT buses, but is ok for fit adults. The standard room with 2 single beds for our mothers was generally ok, but aircon is the independent wall type which tends to be a bit noisy, as mentioned by the other reviewers. This aircon is manually operated (no remote control), and it was a too high for the elderly folk to reach. Our Family room is very spacious and comfortable, with one Queen bed and 2 single beds. Our air con unit was a large newer type with a compressor & remote control, so it didn't make much noise like the twin room. Prob need to change the remote batteries because the indicators were very faint. They should change the checkered bedcover, it looks very dated. The rooms are clean and I would have given them full marks if not for what looked like a flat bed bug crawling on my son's pillow while he was sleeping on the second night! Was surprised to see this for an otherwise clean hotel. The bathrooms are also basic, and it would have made more sense to have installed a much bigger sink. The tap was far too big for the sink and it was difficult to fit the container they provided under the tap for filling up the electric kettle with. Would have been nice to provide bathroom slippers but I guess this is not the practice unless it's a luxurious hotel. Fortunately we brought our own because the toilet floors were so cold. We stayed on the 1st floor, so no view there. Free parking is available but limited. We parked outside along the road which was free from 6pm to 8am (overnight) when we couldn't find a lot in the hotel carpark. A couple of nearby convenience stores for basic needs. Some small eateries around there too, but we did not have a chance to try any. The complimentary breakfast was ok, but way below expectations by Singapore standards. Breakfast is basically bread with various spreads, pastries, oatmeal and cereal, fresh milk/tea/coffee, and fruits. Hot/cooked breakfast is available at additional cost. Probably the norm for the locals, but we're more on the fussy side when it comes to breakfast food. But nevertheless, we all had our fill. Complimentary green apples also available for guests, that's also nice touch.

This hotel is not pretentious, but the rooms are comfortable and well appointed. It is located only a few blocks from the CBD, yet is quiet and peaceful. Staff were friendly and helpful. There is a very good restaurant on site. A highlight was the buffet continental breakfast served in the restaurant - an excellent selection of breakfast treats. The tariff was very reasonable, especially as the breakfast was included in the price. Highly recommended for the budget conscious traveller.

If you're looking for somewhere basic, clean and no-frills then this is a great hotel. We had a deal for one night with breakfast and parking included and this suited us really well for a stop-over stay. It is no-frills so don't expect great front desk service (we didn't get it!) or a ritzy room - what you'll get is great value for money in a nice part of town, with a decent continental breakfast at the hotel's restaurant.

We booked this hotel as the start of our honeymoon, we only booked for three nights just to get over the jet lag. We were pleasantly surprised as it was really good value for money!

We arrived late and staff were helpful and polite, we even had some other friendly guests help us with our luggage. Our room was pretty basic ( all we needed really, and what we paid for) i thought the decor was dated although we had a good size bathroom with a really powerful shower which we really needed after that flight and everything was really clean.

Excellent location for site seeing. 5 min walk to bars / shopping centre etc...

We had bed and breakfast included and we thought the choices were amazing. It isnt just open for the hotel so the standard of food was excellent. The restarant was really lovely and open and fresh, you could sit outside for breakfast if you wanted in the sun.

We ate in the restarant in the evening on our last night, and it was awesome. They have a really good menu and lots to choose from. It was very busy and we really surprised how well cooked our food was and how good the waiting on staff treated us.

Great value hotel with helpful staff.

We would definately stay at this hotel in the future.

I stayed here a couple of nights when I moved from SA to Perth and then used to stay a night at a time when I was commuting for work between the two. Breakfast used to come with a room...altough the last couple of times I think this changed. I stayed here A LOT, and only had a problem once when they mixed up rooms and I ended up in a smoking room with two twins instead of non-smoking queen. But all in all staff were very accommodating and apologetic that one time. Very Clean. Short (10-15 min depending on pace) to centre of town and malls. located at Perth Mint end of Hay Street, so a quieter area than being in middle of town. Good Value
