Description: Our restaurant is steeped in old world charm and majestically stands among the high rises of the Perth CBD. Originally built in the 1850’s for the first Anglican Bishop of Perth, it has been the home for the family of Lord McAlpine and is now situated in one of the few privately owned and managed heritage listed gardens in the city. Executive Chef Nathan Le has been managing our kitchens for over a decade, and imparts a unique interpretation on fashionable food, including a delightful marriage between fresh and local ingredients, combining traditional cooking methods with new techniques, while always staying true to the idea of simple flavor combinations. “Perth, being isolated from other cities, brings its own challenges. But it’s these challenges that make the food in Perth fresh – taking world flavours and using local ingredients from Wagyu beef to amazing seafood and truffles. Cooking with these ingredients is one of the most satisfying aspects of being a chef in Perth”

Great wine list, great food, and great service. Overpriced even for Perth kept it from getting 5 stars.

The only downside to this venue is that it is hidden. It is worth searching out. Wonderful location with an interesting range of special events like wine tasting with tapas, and wine dinners. Great professional staff, interesting wines both Lamont's and others, excellent food.

This is a reasonably priced but special venue, worth it just for the ambience and location. Well run, happy and helpful staff, we will be back.

We visited early on a friday evening passing a few well known venues to get to the Bishops house, these venues were busy and loud. How delightful it to reach an inner city oasis were you could hold a conversation without shouting!

This venue takes a little effort to seek out but is well worth it. The building is old world charm retaining many of its original features, which is quiet rare for the Perth CBD. The staff are excellent, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit so much we booked to return next week. I hestited writing this review because part of the charm of the restaurant is that it seems to slip under the radar! This may be challenged if it became too popular.

Recently went for dinner with international business visitors and ended up embarrassed by the end of the night by the quality of the food and service. This is a beautiful restaurant, which previously I have really enjoyed, so I hope this was just an off night. Firstly there were no staff to meet us at the entrance to see us to our table, we waited for a few minutes before going looking for someone to assist. We had the private room upstairs but for a large group booking, they clearly didn't have enough staff on to support the night. We waited for wine, we waited for food and we waited for everyone at the table to be served - a lot of waiting went on but not by the staff! The food when it arrived was such a disappointment - from the entree right through to the dessert. Won't be going back, which is a shame - this used to be a great place to dine.
