My wife suggested the family head along to try this newish restaurant, based on her enjoyable breakfast several weeks back. I had dined here a few years back when it was called Hammerheads. The location is great, close to the sea, with easy parking. Now a yoga studio and restaurant it was the restaurant we were most interested in. The decor is a bit eclectic, flashing lights in the deck could be turned off, while the tables need to be spaced out a little more.

Anyhow all relatively minor, it was the food that impressed all four of us - from free pizza for kids, to the whole crab burger for me, to the slow cooked lamb for my wife. The menu had a truly impressive range of healthy salads, meat mixes and drinks. The children are staple 'meat and vege' lovers, but they took to our meals with gusto! Thoroughly enjoyed this new addition to Auckland. Service was excellent as well.

This place is just nearby Sealife attraction that is why we visited it first time, and really enjoyed it around 1 year ago. We really liked it couple of days ago as well! I ordered salmon, which was perfectly cooked and served with some veggies and very appropriate herbs sauce and my husband had lamb medallions. Food was great, the best from all places we visited this time. This place also has nice outside area and good view. Highly recommended.

This review does not include a food review, simply the bar aspect of the business, as we visited early evening just for drinks.
We had high expectations, based on its wonderful waterfront location. The fit-out met our anticipation, with fresh, light furnishings and plantings in the eating area and outside deck.
However, service and cleanliness was poor. In making our way to a table on the deck, we found two empty tables were still not cleared of dishes and dirty, despite there being only two other tables occupied, so staff were not under any pressure.
In fact, it was hard to find staff so we could order drinks. We waited almost 15 minutes for someone to come to our table. In the meantime, we had tried to order at the bar, but there was no-one there.
Our waitress was perfunctory; no conversation, no smile and wearing a very dirty apron more suited to the kitchen rather than front of house.
Drinks arrived in relatively good time. The bubbles were served in a tumbler-style glass, which was not our preference, but were told True doesn't have any flutes.
When one of us ordered a second Heineken, we were told there wasn't any more! Only one bottle in stock on a pre-weekend night, when Heineken is a listed beer?
These issues made for an atmosphere devoid of positivity and ambience, so we left.
We were interested to see that an apparent member of management was around the area for most of the time we were there, but unaware or unconcerned at this very poor level of service and standards. Our local, modest café puts True to shame on these counts.
The only smile in the place was from the friendly, courteous woman at the till as we paid. By then, it was too late. We would honestly be reluctant to return, much less bring friends or visitors here. Such a shame; it could and should be the waterfront's premier bar.

Lovely sunny day nice out look good friendly service food was yummy but small portions and very expensive for what you get on your plate. Came away still feeling a little hungry. Two of us went both female and both said if we took our men there they wouldn't like it as they would want something a little more substance? However we did see the Man next to us eating what looked like a Hamburger and French Fries so that might keep them happy!!

Delightful dinner for a party of four - we loved the setting and the view of the sparkling bay looking towards the city lights. The fish was utterly divine as were the sides. All four of us including our gourmet dining business associates from the USA were impressed. The wine (pinot noir) seemed expensive. The staff were polite and efficient.
