If you are looking for somewhere a little bit 'nice' then you may want to look further afield...
This is a very average motel, and has all the basics but it is old. has a full kitchen which is great for families or those wanting to be able to make their own meals.
You can hear people outside and above your unit, so it depends who is staying at the time.
Is in a handy location but really needs a revamp.

Overall the studio unit we had for 1 night was below expectations. Double bed was acceptable but the pillows were well beyond their use by date. There was only 1 spare pillow and this was insufficient when all pillows were very flat.

Sky TV was advertised but it was only a 3 channel Sky and did not include Sport and other popular channels. Wireless Internet also advertised but the fact it incurred an extra charge was not stated.

The guide in the Unit advertised mainly food places in close proximity and very little else.

Close to a busy traffic street but the traffic noise was minor and was perfectly acceptable.

Lots of Motels in this area, am sure there is better value close by.

Room Tip: Take a good spare pillow. Be aware that SKY TV is very limited, 3 channels only, Wireless Internet incurs a charge.

We stayed at Abella for 2 nights in room 6 (family room) on the top floor. There were four of us (two children) and we were very comfortable.
The kitchen had cooking facilities, plates, cups / glasses, cutlery microwave & oven/stove available for use which was great.
The room was quite cold when we arrived at night but quickly heated up with the two heaters available in the room.
The rooms were very clean and tidy. The beds were comfortable and we slept well.
Service was very friendly.
We would recommend this motel for families and we'll stay again when next in Auckland.

We chose this motel for its proximity to Alexandra Park. That is about the only true statement on their website. The photos are nothing like the actual rooms which are small, dark, dingy and in need of renovation.
There is clearly no insulation, the rooms are freezing and there is only one small oil column heater. Wardrobe is half size so you can't hang dresses, only short items such as shirts.
The staff were rude and although I made it clear to them that I did not want them to be out of pocket, they insisted they would charge the whole amount to my credit card without my authorisation even though it was clear they would be able to re-sell the room.
