“Not value for money”
Reviewed 7 November 2013

The room was dated and dusty. We had no mattress protector, just a sheet over a thin mattress. I did ask for one and we were given for the second night, but only after two people, came to the door and asked was everything alright, and I had to ask again. They also came to service our room at 5pm, after we had been out all day and we were back relaxing. There was a lot of noise in the corridors until after midnight on the Friday. We would not use this hotel again.

Room Tip: Choose one of the other chain hotels, heard Quest is very good

The stay was ok but soured after we left. On arriving back in Australia we found that we had left a couple of clothing items in the room. The shirt worn once and the expensive gloves were somehow left in the room. We e-mailed the hotel to enquire but to no avail. Apart from that the hotel is just average.

we had a great time in Auckland. The hotel was well situated in central Auckland and close to transport and the venues we needed to visit. The room was clean and well appointed. But more glasses are needed, 2 champagne flutes and two tumblers? It was also odd to have our towels changed at 4pm on a Saturday afternoon. But aside from those two minor details a great stay.

Room Tip: go for as high as you can get for awesome views over Auckland.

Stayed here multiple times over the years. Sometimes everything goes off without a hitch, other times the rep is late in meeting you with the room key, DVD players don't work, TV remotes missing, dust on surfaces as if not cleaned for a month. Everything gets remedied eventually - you're just left wondering why it wasn't fixed before you got there.

Had a very pleasant stay in this very well located and reasonably maintained high rise building. Accommodation on 29th floor had great harbour views and sliding window for fresh air. Heating aircon was hardly needed over 4 night stay but was very efficient. The room itself was a good size but is looking a bit tired and while clean, in need of refurbishment. Workable kitchenette as come through entrance having fridge, microwave, oven and dishwasher but limited cutlery and plates (just adequate only, needs refreshing). Washing machine (powder provided) and dryer excellent. Good size bathroom with separate shower and bath. Lounge is good size with seating for 3 plus separate desk and chair. Bedroom is extension of lounge with sliding doors if privacy needed. Great wardrobe (one double with 2 rails and one single) plus drawers and shelves. So plenty of clothes hanging space so why only 4 plastic coat hangers? I bought 10 new ones at nearby Warehouse for $4 and left them as a donation to future guests. Unbelievable the little things that don't get looked after. Room was serviced every 2nd day which was Ok but I was not informed of this by reception. Good gym and pool area along with nearby parks and waterfront for outdoor running. Located right in central CBD but no accompanying city sounds at night. Free wifi set up that worked well, but again I had to ask about it as not given details by reception at check in.

Rooms, especially the views from the rooms are just wonderful. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The service was excellent,,, would definitely come back. The rooms facing the harbour side are great. The hotel in located in the heart of the city, so you can walk down to almost every shopping destinations or train station and bus stops.

Room and facilities were good - mini-kitchen, sitting area and bedroom and the gym/pool looked OK.

Finding the way in was less-than-obvious, even if the reception had been staffed - this complex must have been designed by an architect in isolation from the management (or even basic guest experience!). The related(?) hotel reception is quite bleak and staff there, while helpful, have little awareness of the appartment details which are handled in the shop-front office under the building in a mini-mall that is apparently Courthouse Lane or a part of it.
