Coming from a South Island campervan roundtrip, already seen some nice places at North Island, the Tongariro Crossing behind us and a bit exhausted, we made a 3 night stopover at Eden Villa, Mt. Eden, Auckland. We had already high expectations due to the many good reviews but these were finally exceeded. Christine and Anthony are the best hosts you can have. Only one example: As soon as Anthony realized that I am interested in bird-watching, he showed me some excellent books on New Zealand' s Birds from his private collection and interesting discussions on this topic followed.

At Eden Villa you can expect a lot - finally, the probability that you get even more is high!

We had 5 wonderful days in Edenvilla from December 30 to January 4. The B&B is very charming and tasteful decorated. It is located in a very quiet street. In 20 minutes you can walk to the top of Mount Eden to get a wonderful view onto Auckland. In 2 minutes you can walk to Mount Eden Village with all its nice Cafés (don't miss Olaf's Café and Artisan Bakery at Stokes Road 1). For visiting Auckland CBD or waterfront you can use the bus that takes approx. 15 to 20 minutes.
We stayed in the spacious Floral room. The bedroom is lovely decorated. The ensuite is modern and very nice and it has a spacious shower. Christine and Antony are lovely hosts, they gave us a lot of good recommendations. We stayed in 14 B&Bs during our 5 1/2 week trip through NZ. All B&Bs have been very good, but Edenvilla has been definitely the best.
We loved to stay in Edenvilla and we definitely will come back for our next visit of Auckland.

Spent 2 nights here, prior to returning to the UK. When you look at some of the dated, dusty & dull B&B's or motels in Auckland, this was an oasis of charm and quality. Rooms are very clean and comfortable, hotel standard, house and gardens are lovely, and full of character, and the family let you share part of their living space. Great chat with the owners and other guests, made it feel like home. Christine and Anthony were also a great help to guests, with travel advice and logistics.

Its also right beside Mount Eden village, with nice restaurants and cafes, and a walk up Mount Eden if you are up for it, on your doorstep.

Lovely spot. Would highly recommend,

Mike & Dorrie....and the girls.

This was my second visit to Eden Villa. Christine and Antony are wonderful hosts and have opened their lovely home and garden to people.
Wonderful rooms, beds, amenities. A quick walk to Mt Eden Village which has lovely shops, restaurants and pubs.
Skip the downtown Auckland hotels, Eden Villa is THE place to stay in Auckland. I cannot wait to return. They make me feel like family.

We cannot speak highly enough of this B&B. The room was lovely leading out onto a beautiful garden. The furnishings were of a very high standard and yet it felt like home. This was largely due to Christine and Anthony who were excellent hosts and were genuinly interested in looking after us. Everything was immaculate and the location was great in that it was very quiet yet within walking distance of many restaurants, a great bookshop and other interesting stores. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: Choose the room with doors to the garden.

This delightful villa will surely impress you. My partner and I had a few nights at Eden Villa before our wedding day at Mantells and boy was it a glorious three night stay. Christine and Antony made us feel right at home with their amazing hospitality, scrumptious breakfasts and warm atmosphere. Their place is so tastefully decorated that we had most of our wedding photos taken there. I highly recommend this place.

We spent 3 nights and loved it. Coming from a rural setting in North Canterbury we wanted a garden view and privacy, a home away from home rather than an inner city hotel. Christine and Antony gave us a warm welcome and showed interest in us.They have a natural flair and way with people. They were interesting and enthusiastic. We loved our room which opened into their north facing garden and the attention to detail made the suite most comfortable. Great breakfasts with wholesome food just to our taste. We enjoyed stimulating discussions with other guests over breakfast. The location was perfect for us with family not far away and the local village was easy to walk to. With open spaces nearby there are great walks and the trip to Eden Gardens and Mount Eden were delightful. For NZ hospitality, local scenery and a family home atmosphere of a high standard I felt proud to be a New Zealander. We will be back.

Room Tip: All rooms looked great. Ours was smaller but very restful.
