“Charming village”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Laid back, attractive seaside village with good cafes and food places, and a very good secondhand bookship. Easy to reach for tourists without cars - an easy ferry ride from the centre of downtown Auckland.

“Day trip”
Reviewed 6 August 2014

Things are quiet in Devonport in winter. Lots of places are closed for weeks at a time. This can be a good thing though. Less crowded for sure. Not hard to see it abuzz with people in the warmer months.

A visit to the North Head military emplacements was very interesting. Kids would love it (exploring tunnels, caves, and underground stores).

Always a favourite on a Saturday or Sunday for brunch/lunch or meander through the shops and arcades.

“You dont have to go far...”
Reviewed 5 August 2014 via mobile

Devonport is one of those close-to-the-city suburbs that we take all new comers to see the view of auckland in a picturesque setting.
Its a quaint little suburb with very interesting houses, mounts with breath-taking views, rich in history and has loads of activities for everyone. There are nice little cafes- great food, and takeaway shops if you feel like having a picnic in the park or by the beach. We do love those long walks by the beach and dreaming about owning one of those victorian houses with a view.

Devonport is also a great place to get a vantage point of auckland city during new year's eve to see the fireworks and take great photos if you're into
