Disorganised and very expensive for very little. Nothing exotic about the animals there and not very many of them. Felt bad for the animals too. Not nice to see goats chained up and animals living in muddy conditions. 'Train' ride was slow and boring. Random dinosaurs scattered in one area that didn't do anything and didn't fit in. Just a weird mix of not much. Defiantly don't recommend and won't be going back.

We had a friend with Children visiting from Australia and decided to pack them and our 2 children to crystal mountain for the day.

Huge disappointment and far too costly for what this actually is - $35 a ticket for a child for access with limited rides 1 very small roller coaster, Towed Train Carriages, Kid Cars around a self guiding track and a bungy trampoline

We would have been better off and less embarrased taking them to Rainbows End for that price, the small roller coaster raised an eyebrow and looks like it's in dire need of some maintenance, rust on structural bolts is not a good look, only 2 of the 4 trampoline bungies in service.

The place looks depleted more like an old farm that has not had an extreme makeover with few dinosaurs placed around to try make it look like some kind of attraction. Fences enclosing the animals where in bad state of repair and we were hesitant to feed the animals at certain points in case the animal injured themselves on the sharp wires protruding from the broken mesh.

The shop and cafe seems to be the place where revenue has been spent and the main focus of this place begins. The crystal museum is worth a visit and probably the highlight of this place , Staff were friendly and helpful though however this place is needs smartening up, spilt bins, soiled nappies and litter in the carpark not a good first impression.

I would not advise anyone to visit this place unless they sort it out or reduce the prices as you do not get what you pay for

We purchased tickets from grabone before reading the reviews and to be honest, if I'd read them before I wouldn't have bought the tickets. So we took our 3 y/o, with his 4 and 11 y/o cousins anyway, expecting a poor-average experience. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The younger two absolutely loved it. Was a good number of activities for them to enjoy, without being too OTT. Particularly enjoyed the roller coaster and pony rides - which were a first for both the littlies. The 10 y/o rolled his eyes during a few of the activities, but sat at the front of the roller coaster the second time round and had the thrill of his life!
I'd definitely recommend it. The staff were lovely. Each one gave us a beaming smile and interacted really well with our kids. I thought the cost was reasonable, but wished we'd paid the additional $20pp to upgrade to the unlimited pass -at $5pp per activity, it became a bit much.
All in all though, a really good day out. Definitely pack your own lunch to bring the cost down too.

We came during the week & were very disappointed that so little was available. The kids loved the pony ride & the train, but apart from that there was only really feeding the animals. The rides & trampoline were closed & the dinosaurs were turned off. I'd say it'd be a lot of fun on the weekends, but don't bother mid-week.

Our kids just love this place and it is one of the places they would always choose to go to in Auckland. To be honest we only ever come when we have a discount voucher as it is expensive at full price but when we have vouchers it is great value. We went a couple of Saturdays ago, the weather was lovely but it was still nice and quiet so the kids got heaps of rides on everything. My oldest daughter must have had 10 horse rides, at least 8 goes on the roller coaster and heaps of turns on the bungy. They all loved the new tractor rides and the train and the animal feeding. Some of the staff are not overly friendly but the kids love it so much that is all overlooked. There is enough there for us to spend the day and we take our own lunch to avoid the café prices.
