From the moment we drove to the front door the service and greetings were great. The check in and check out staff welcoming and efficient. The bathroom facilities were great, and the little extras make this a lovely place to stay. Staff were always warm and very welcoming in the corridors, restaurant and bar. The food in the restaurant was only a tad disappointing but absolutely nothing of significance.

We stayed at this great hotel for three nights in February, 2014. We arrived in the middle of the night from Hawaii, very tired! We were warmly greeted by the staff. Our room (406) was located in a corner where we had great views of the city on one side and the harbor on the other. The room was very clean and orderly. I very much appreciated the large bathroom with two sinks. We love the Sofitel chain and always enjoy our stays. However, we were disappointed with the small room and lack of closet space for two at the Auckland Sofitel. Despite this, we found the staff very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent for walking and getting acquainted with the city and finding good places to eat. We will certainly stay there again on our next visit to Auckland.

Room Tip: Corner rooms are sunny and have great views of the city and harbor.

Good location on the harbour.

Had a Luxury room with marina view, private balcony and floor to ceiling windows.
really good bath. You get free Wi-Fi, free wine, and tea and coffee in the room if you are a Club Accor member.

Breakfast was quite good but rather expensive.

We received very slow service in the bar in the early evening - the only time we used it.

a few weeks after leaving we found on line that the hotel had added a charge to my credit card on top of the payment we made on leaving. I queried it and they said it was for postage. I told them that we had not posted anything and they removed the charge.

Room Tip: Room 512 on the harbour front is on the end - too close to the pedestrian walkway given that there...

Once again Sofitel failed to disappointment me
Right from the moment you check in, the quality of the rooms, Breakfast and Dinners all spotless.
I stayed here for business and was checked into a room that face the harbour, it was very clean and tidy.
Every day would have breakfast in the hotel, and sometimes used the express breakfast bar...when running late.
The gym was amazing.
The hotel is located in the Viaduct area but away from the noise, there is come amazing walks around the hotel.
I will be back here again soon.

We had 4 lovely nights stay at Sofitel Auckland even though we changed our booked room to a slightly smaller room to get our preferred view of the mariner and the sky tower we still enjoyed the comfortable bed and luxury room facilities. Close to the CBD, restaurants and fairy terminal yet lovely quiet and peaceful at night. Thank you to the helpful and friendly staff.

I stayed here for a business trip in May and can't really fault the hotel. It has a sleek design and all the amenities the business travellers needs. Staff and friendly and efficient. Breakfast is amazing. A great spread of healthy and delicious choices that would but their European and North American counterparts to shame. I also enjoyed being on the harbour. Great if you like to walk or run and take in the views. Rooms are large and spacious too. So yes, I do recommend this hotel.

I did feel the rooms/surrounds could have a touch more character. It is a little bit on the sterile side. Appreciate the minimalist style, but it needs a little lift :)

Only two things from me:
1) Having to pay for Wi-Fi?? I thought most hotels of this calibre had phased that out. Just because I am not the one paying for my hotel room, it doesn't mean I don't care about the cost. It's the principal. This is money for jam and, more the the point, makes it a hassle to log-in. We need fast, free access so we can work efficiently.

2) Put deck chairs on the balcony's in the hotel rooms. So many sunny days, but no where to sit :(
