Located underground halfway down an alley off Queen Street, I probably wouldn't have found this place if I had been looking, but this ramen was a happy find. I ordered the miso ramen with a chili pepper rating of 3 (out of 5). The broth was hot and tasty and surprisingly but perfectly spicy. Be warned that they are serious about their spice. They even dare you to try the ramen at a spicy rating of five. The most impressive part of the ramen were the noodles. They were ample and exactly the right density--not too tough and definitely not too soft. The pork and the accompanying vegetables were nice complements. I didn't care for the corn, but they seem to be common ramen fare and I think I'm losing that battle. The place is very basic. Definitely no frills, but for about $12 US for a big bowl of excellent ramen, that was just part of the appeal.

This is the best place for Japanese Ramen in Auckland. Don't know how it compares to Ramen places internationally, but definitely the best in Auckland.

We come here all the time. Perfect on those cold, rainy Auckland days when you need some comfort food to warm your bones. Order the Sapporo/Hokkaido ramen.

If you are a ramen tragic (like my wife), this is the place for you. Hot and spicy broth, springy hand made noodles and tasty pork bits and pieces and veges. The bowl is huge so graet value. Must be the best in Auckland.

Had lunch here on a nice sunny weekday based on a recommendation by a friend. Was pleasantly happy about the taste and experience.

Service - Very friendly service like in Japan.

Food - Great tasting ramen. My sister-in-law who lived in Japan for a couple of years say that it tasted like in Japan. We tried the cold wasabi ramen (summer only offer), pork + BBQ pork ramen and the hokkaido ramen. All tasted nice. The taste wasn't too oily or over-powering and their BBQ pork is nice and crunchy. Decent portion too.

Value - 12-15/bowl which is reasonable for size.

Atmosphere - Cafe-like but had lots of decorations from Japan. Decent enough on a busy street.

Overall - We loved the taste and would return :)
