I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for two nights. The room was very clean, good choise of television channels, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, great big bath towels - very nice. This is a high rise hotel and I was on the 25th Floor which next time would like to be nearer the ground. The outside glass lift is an experience. Breakfast was good and a good variety of food and you can have any type of coffee you want which is a nice touch - unfortunately mine was luke warm. Very central to the centre of the city and Skycity casino is on the next street up, the main street one street down.
Easy access if you are coming from the airport on the airbus (recommended) just get off at stop 3 and you can enter through the back of the hotel. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I am looking forward to staying there again.

Room Tip: Could ask for a view although you can see the city from the big windows near the elevators

We enjoyed our 2-night stay at the Crowne Plaza. Everything was clean and well-maintained, and our Superior King Room was comfortable on the 16th floor with a reasonable view of surrounding buildings. Lighting in the room was good. I made the most of the free 20 minutes per day wi-fi availability in the lobby area.

However, we did have some irritations which should be easy to sort out. Our check-in experience was civil and polite, but we wouldn't call it warm and welcoming.

Upon arrival in our room, we read the hotel book and found that we could order a paper for the morning simply by putting a paper request hanger on the door - we didn't have one in our room. So we wandered past the Concierge's desk and explained the lack of hanger, and asked to order a paper for each of our two mornings - yes, that would be done, we were told. Next morning, by 9:00 am we phoned because there was no paper at our door. A paper was brought up promptly. Later, as we went out, we asked that day's Concierge again to order a paper for us. He phoned to do so as we left. Unfortunately NO paper again the next day - we were told we weren't listed has having ordered one, but one was brought promptly to our room. So... something wrong in the ordering department.

The bathroom was spacious and well-equipped but there was a crack right through our basin that someone needs to check. And we were going to be charged for something from the in-room bar supplies that we hadn't eaten. So, check your account carefully.

Yes, a few minor grizzles that took the shine off what was otherwise an excellent stay. We enjoyed the Aria Restaurant food so much that we had two dinners there - the food was cooked exactly to order, and they coped well with my gluten-free request. It was good to see food labelled GF on the menu, too. Service at the lobby bar was friendly and attentive. We also found the cleaning staff exceptionally friendly as we walked along hallways - they were lovely

The hotel is very well-located for the central city area, being very close to the Civic Theatre and Sky City Casino, as well as only a short walk to the waterfront.

Yes, we would stay here again!

Stayed 2 nights on business. The hotel was very convenient for my office location, and was of a high standard. Also the rate was good value. The front of the hotel was a construction site, but that was not the fault of the hotel and only caused minimal inconvenience. Staff friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Room was comfortable and clean. Wouldn't recommend it for business - wifi really expensive, slow, limited to 500Mb and you have to pay separately for iPad as well as laptop.

Stayed here on a business trip and ended up with a few days to kill in Auckland. I found this hotel to be the perfect location for me. It is about a 15 minute walk to the harbor and viaduct area. The hotel also has some nice little stores below the lobby level and has easy access to Queen St. for even more shopping and dining options.

I rate this as a very good hotel as it should be for the class of hotel it belongs to.

Every thing was OK but I would not say above average. Bed sheets were wrinkled for some reason which I found surprising. The shower over the bath in a high standard hotel in not good these days.

Car parking (being a city hotel of course) was frustrating and expensive week days ($24 a night) and I actually decided to cut my stay to just one night and move south to a good motel for the 2nd night.

Reception was good and the staff helpful.

Room Tip: If you are renting a car think about the car parking first.
