The Hilton has gorgeous views of the harbor. We arrived at 6am so they upgraded our first room so we could get settled in with extra towels and amenities. Breakfast was a big buffet. Everyone was very helpful. Our second room was ready by 11am. Would definitely recommend staying here in Auckland. It's close to everything.

We booked in for a Harbour View Deluxe and when we arrived we were upgraded to a suite. This made our day as it was my wife's birthday and we were able to sit on the deck drinking beer and wine and watch all the action on the harbour. Dinner and breakfast were also very good. Well done Hilton

Stayed here for two nights on business. The location is OK but at the end of a long warf so it is a bit of a walk to get into the city. Not that far but not so close. Service was great and the staff friendly. The bartender custom made a ginger/pepper margarita for me and it was delicious. Breakfast buffet was good but not outstanding. The room was clean and comfortable. Fortunately no cruise ships to block the view while we were there. Overall a nice place but expensive and somewhat isolated.

Even though this hotel was one that my company makes me stay at, that doesn't change the fact that I had a great time there. It was in a great location, not far from restaurants, bars for some evening entertainment. The rooms were very large. The breakfast was awesome: cook to order omelettes, waffles -- yumm!

The only thing that I isn't like was paying $25 a day for Internet. In this day an age I'd expect it to be free.

We had a large family double room with divine views of the Hauraki Gulf. The Waiwera bottled water and red apples at the Counter made for a healthy counterpoint.
Fantastic staff, particularly in the Bell Desk and Concierge Departments. Nothing was too much trouble. They really took time to get my son's rollaway sorted out.

Room Tip: Try for a room with a Harbour view.

I have stayed at the Auckland Hilton many times, most recently for three nights in June 2013.

If "Hilton" makes you think busy, hectic, rushed, then the Auckland Hilton will change your mind. I love staying at this place, not least because it's quiet, relaxed, low-rise and in a dream location.

The staff here are always pleasant, not fawning, and helpful in a relaxed and not a forced manner. The hotel is tastefully designed, modern and rather minimal. The rooms are of average size with big, well-appointed bathrooms.

But the best thing about this hotel is its location, over the water right on (literally on) Auckland harbour. The design, made to resemble an ocean liner, adds to the beauty of the location. This only spoiled when a real ocean liner docks alongside the hotel (as happens from time to time as the hotel is built on a long jetty). At those times the area can be a bit crowded for a few hours, but that's a small price to pay and it has only happened a couple of times in the four years I've been staying here.

Breakfast in the restaurant, surrounded by water on three sides, is one of my favourite travel experiences.

The only drawback is the outrageously expensive cost of in-room internet connection. This is a common issue in Australia and New Zealand, something rarely encountered in Europe (where it's usually free) or in the US (where it's usually very cheap). Charging per device just makes it worse, and free wifi in the foyer doesn't really compensate.

Hiltion AKL is a nice hotel. A little far from the CBD centre, but close enough if you dont mind a bit of walk. The hotel itself if very nice. We booked a mystery deal so were happily surprised to find it was the Hilton. Plenty to do around the hotel as well. Nice location and nice views.
