Very conveniently located for us to catch the ferry to Waiheke. Was also surprised at how quiet it was given it is so close to downtown Auckland and also the many restaurants close by. I come to Auckland for business a lot, but hardly ever stay the night, so do know parking can be a hassle. However paying for valet parking at the Hilton is the way to go. Lovely to wake up and open the curtains to see the harbour, the cruise ships and ferries from the private balcony. The room was smallish for NZ standards, but well laid out.

A very nice place to stay in Auckland New Zealand. It is on the water on 2 sides, be sure to get a room with a view of the Ferry Terminal and cruze ship dock. The 7th floor is really good. We stayed 3 times on our month trip to New Zealand, enjoyed the proximity to the downtown, waterfront and Ferry terminal. The staff was great. The bar and resturant were very good. Rooms also were nice with a big balcony overlooking the water with views across the channel.

Room Tip: 7th floor om=n the side with water view.

A stunning location on the water in the thriving Viaduct district of downtown Auckland where you will be right in the middle of the "dining district". There is plenty of shopping around here too but do make sure you go off Queen Street for some excellent small boutique's and eateries. There are plenty of places to walk to and explore from this location without the use of a vehicle. You will receive excellent service from all the staff at The Hilton who go out of their way to make your stay a pleasant one. The beds and linen are all wonderful and best of all the rooms are soooo quiet it's easy to sleep in!! If you can, book a Harbour side room as the view is really interesting with the boats coming and going. The showers have excellent pressure (once you figure them out) and the bathroom is huge with a seperate bath. Each room has a very generous deck/patio which is ideal for unwinding on with a nice bottle of something from the bar. When at the bar found fellow guests to be very friendly which was a nice change and the staff, especially Arthur wonderful. This is our 2nd stay at the Hilton and it wont be our last. There is plenty to do here for young and old.

First class hotel with all the expected amenities. There was a friendly front door man that I especially appreciated. My luggage was taken care of expertly and I never felt concerned about it. The rooms are gorgeous. I had a harbor view with a balcony. I did not have much time to appreciate it. I ate in the hotel restaurant and it was great. Walkable from disembarking cruise ship, but I am glad I chose not to with all my luggage and it turns out a leg injury. Best taxi money spent for the short ride (approx 10 NZD)
That was all the money I spent on taxis. Hotel is within walking distance of attractions, shopping and restaurants.
Would stay again. Highly recommend.

Built on an old wharf, the Hilton stands at the very end, surrounded by water. Various apartment buildings, restaurants and bars line the wharf between the hotel and the shoreline. My room had an incredible view over the city wharves and towards the heads of the harbour. Room had a good size balcony. Nicely furnished and very comfortable.
Staff were pleasant and attentive and had plenty of suggestions to offer about spots to visit, restaurants etc. location good for business as right beside CBD. All things considered, pretty unbeatable.

What we liked about the Auckland Hilton:
- excellent location on waterfront, with access to many local restaurants and a short walk to downtown
- our room was modern with a super comfortable bed, excellent lighting and we loved our view from our balcony
- very personable, engaging, friendly and attentive staff
- a superb breakfast buffet with an outstanding variety of food choices ( although on the expensive side)

Concerns:
- the common area furniture in the lobby and main bar area are in very sad shape with fraying, stained fabric badly in need of replacement. Surprising that the hotel has not addressed this, not a 5 star appearance
- pool area has few loungers ( 6-8) for a hotel the size of the Auckland Hilton

First time at the Auckland Hilton and I would return again.
