“Convenient Accommodation away from the crowds”
Reviewed 17 May 2013

Stayed here in Feb '13 - near very good bus service to downtown and Parnell Village offers lots of places to eat and shop (all within walking distance of the hotel). the staff were particularly helpful to us. Enjoyed having a room with a view of Auckland and the harbour. If you fancy having fish and chips there's a takeout down the road and they still use newspaper as insulation to keep the fish hot!!

Three of us stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. As we needed to meet different family in Auckland we found roads via GPS gave us quick and easy trips to several areas of Auckland. Views across the harbour and the city including the night lights of the CBD. As we needed rest breaks also it was great to have a separate lounge with comfy seating. Relaxing, having a drink looking over the harbour was fantastic. We have stayed before and will stay again. Have already recommended to other family members.

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for one night only. We were attending an event at Vector Arena. The Hotel is located in the lovely area of Parnell - with some fantastic little cafe's nearby.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the Viaduct and around 7 minutes to Vector arena. The walk is really easy and only one small hill - so unless you are extremely unfit it should be easy to walk around.

The price of the Hotel was great value for money- with rooms which have been modernised - and are very clean. Bathroom was a little dated - however clean and functional. I generally don't like a shower over bath - but you cannot complain when you are only paying $111.00 for a room in Parnell that is a 4 star. If this hotel was 4.5 star - 5 or the price was over $150.00 I would have only given 4 stars - but for the price I think it is extremley good value for money.

Lovely views from the 5th floor towards the harbour.. with a nice little deck to sit and admire the view.

We have a wee issue with a Maintanence man that proved to be extremley unpleasent and almost ruined the whole trip - however the hotel Management was very effective at resolving our complaint and I left feeling very positive about my experience at the Quality Hotel Parnell.

We would definately stay again, and would happily refer our friends and family.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor looking out to the harbour...It was great ! worth paying a little extra for...

Dear Shrinkingherlegs,

Thank you for your great review, and we appreciate the "extremely good value for money" feedback, which is always a measure that we are constantly striving to achieve.

I was made aware of the maintenance man issue by our Executive Assistant Manager. Rest assured that this type of situation will never occur again, and thank you for giving us the opportunity to redeem ourselves.

I understand that you will be staying with us again in the near future, and I hope that I may have the opportunity to meet up with you at that time.

Yours Sincerely

We stayed here as part of our cycling Tour of New Zealand so I have no idea about the actual room costs as it was all included in our package. We had rooms in the North block and were on the 3rd floor which offered good views of Auckland. Some of our group were offered deluxe rooms which would have been toward the CBD end and thus probably had better uninhibited views. The room and balcony were lovely. We had bikes with us so the balcony proved to be a handy storage area. The bathroom however was incredibly basic. Units without doors. All plastic walls/floors and a window directly onto the main floor corridor. There were also threats on the walls about allowing the bath to overflow attracting hefty penalties. The other odd thing was two rooms shared an outer reception area but with a door to the corridor. The door I guess helped reduced corridor noise but the neighbours needed to be considerate. I think our biggest gripe was the amount of light which flooded into the room around the ill fitting entrance door. We ended up stacking cases and pillows against the door to try and reduce some of this light pollution. Despite the qualms I found this a acceptable hotel to stay for the night.

Room Tip: Choose north block with high corridor number for best views

We stayed here as the Parnell Inn could not take us for an extra night.
The only unit available was a two bedroom, apartment on the third floor.
It was excellent, very clean, spacious with firstclass bathroom amenities
and comfortable beds.
Although we were concerned about the road noise as we were very close,
once the ranchsliders were closed there was absolutely no sound at all
and we had a very good night's sleep.
Would not hesitate to stay here again if we were prepared to pay the
price!

Stayed here as I was attending a training course at the venue. Room was clean and seemed recently furnished. Bed was comfortable. Road is pretty busy and the setup of the rooms and landings means a bit of noise from neighbours. But nothing unbearable. Was delighted with speed and quality of my room service meal. Delivered in 15-20 mins and wedges were great. Reasonable price for dinner too.

I have stayed at this hotel several times whilst visiting Auckland, and have always been more than happy with the venue. The property is quite old, but has been updated well, offering very spacious rooms, many with kitchens and lounge areas. Balconies are also available in some rooms, with many giving a lovely view of Auckland Harbour, and the beautifully lit city skyline, Parking is plentiful and free. the Restaurant is very moderately priced with breakfast and dinner choices being delicious. Staff are very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated 5 minuted walk from the
beautiful Rose Gardens, and is within walking distance from the trendy shops, cafes and galleries in trendy Parnell. A great place to stay at a very moderate cost.

Room Tip: Request a room with balcony and lounge area, for comfort and space
