Fantastic location in the centre of Auckland. Property is obviously well managed and great care taken to keep it in top shape. Great care also taken to ensure guests feel welcome and comfortable. Check in was quick and the room we had was fantastic (1909) - full kitchen & separate lounge area. Bed was extremely comfortable with comfort topper on it. Best night's sleep away for a long time.
The desk and concierge staff are awesome - Jacky, Adrian and team deserve high praise. Nothing was too much trouble and helped us with several requests including car hire. Such a pleasure to deal with a team who genuinely care about offering great service.
Location is terrific - only five mins walk to ferries or to marina, right in CBD with shopping or dining options all around.

We arrived late at night after a very long day and night of travel. Check in was rapid and we went right to bed. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've ever had and we slept very well, perhaps since we were so tired. The room was attractive with a small fridge and facilities to make tea/coffee. Fresh milk was supplied every day for the coffee - a nice touch. We were there 3 nights and the location was excellent allowing us to walk everywhere. The staff at the concierge desk were very helpful providing good directions for everywhere we wanted to go. Breakfast was a bit expensive at $28 for a full breakfast and $19 for a continental breakfast so we tried the cafes on nearby Vulcan St and that worked out well. Free WiFi in the lobby - an hour of continuous use up to 3 times a day. All in all, this was a great place to stay.

Stayed here with a work colleague for one night.
We drove up from Rotorua and faced the rush hour traffic on Queen St. Having never driven in Auckland before, this was a bit of a challenge!
We drove past the frontage on Queen St numerous time trying to figure out where the entrance was - don't panic!!
Eventually found it and left the car to be valet parked ($35).
Great service at the reception, easy check in.
Lovely suite - was not expecting lounge and kitchen as well as the bedroom for $179 (I think this was a corporate rate though).
I wish we could have stayed more than one night to make the most of it!
Ate in the restaurant twice - dinner and breakfast - very high standard.
Great central location.
Would return :)

Thank you for your feedback and lovely comments regarding our rooms, staff and restaurant. I do agree our driveway entrance can be a bit tricky - especially for those who are experiencing Auckland CBD for the first time. Comfortable accommodation in the centre of Queens Street, just a 5 minutes walk to the ferry buildings. There are 2 small supermarkets within a few hundred metres if you want to eat in. Our rooms (we had a one bedroom apartment) were light and airy and had comfortable seating.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the higher rooms

We picked this hotel as we stayed with relatives in Auckland and wanted a 2 BR adjoining room. It has a good location, near Sky Tower. The rooms were great and comfortable including kitchen with appliances and laundry washer/dryer. Great base for Auckland. Only thing I didn't like was check out time was so early 10 am, the late checkout was 11 am. If you are driving, the hotel main entrance is on a side street and you can miss it driving down Queen Street.

Location is what it is all about, and the Citylife Hotel has got it. Add helpful staff and clean and comfortable accommodations (a great shower, always appreciate that). One caveat, it is probably true that the higher your room, the better. We were on the 13th floor - they don't do that in the USA - but it wasn't unlucky for us.

Room Tip: didn't use spa, so no rating. see comment about higher floors.

City Life provides a dependable and comfortable haven with a fanatastic location. Staff are always friendly and courteous, valet parking is reliable and good value and the beds are super-comfortable. My favourite hotel in Auckland. Most visit for me are business but last weekend was a romantic weekend away with my wife. Excellent for all occasions.
