We had one night at the Heritage recently, stayed in the tower, nice spacious room, very clean, got a late checkout by asking, great central location.
Pros - comfy beds, clean, good location, secure, relatively quiet for central Auckland, easy walk down to the viaduct and wynyard quarter.
Cons - slightly pricey but ok for a business hotel, bathroom slightly dated
Will stay there again.

The family stayed for 2 nights on the way through Auckland. For the price we paid (it was a 1 bedroom suite) we expected just a little more. Overall I think the place just feels tired and in need of renovation. This was certainly the case with the bed which was absolutely shot. We requested that the mattress be changed and the second night was only marginally better than the first.

On the positive side, the staff and location are excellent. We also really enjoyed being able to use the large balcony (not always the case with inner-city apartments) and found the layout of the room to be excellent.

My family and I have stayed 3 times at this hotel in the last 3 years and having teenage children it is very central to the city life. Staff have always been very professional and helpful. The rooftop pool was out of action this most recent trip but when we have stayed before it was great with the pool and spa and gym on the rooftop. The valet parking staff are excellent and the whole stay was pretty much hassle free.

This hotel was once a department store, but transformed into a delightful hotel. The restaurant is in the Atrium and very pleasant. The staff are very helpful and polite as are most New Zealanders or those that we met. It is virtually opposite the Sky Tower and five minutes walk from the harbour, where you will find many restaurants and bars, all selling an excellent choice of food and an interesting mix of ships, yachts and racing boats to gaze at. Most pleasant one night stop before travelling the two Islands.

I've stayed at the Heritage Auckland several times and it never disappoints. The staff's attention to detail and desire to provide optimal service is what sets this hotel apart. Many of the staff have been there for years - which speaks volumes of the owners and management. Rooms are well-appointed and bathrooms feature superior toiletries. The location is excellent, with easy access to the motorway. Guest rooms are quiet, regardless of their location in the complex. It's the consistently excellent service and warm welcome that keeps me returning to the Heritage Auckland.
