“Spacious and comfortable”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 September 2012

We (family of 4, kids 9 and 12) stayed in a high-floor 2-bed corner apartment and found it spacious and well-equipped. Whilst not exactly long on character, it was very reasonably priced for the size and facilities offered (i.e. fully functional kitchen and laundry).

The location is good and central: the only issue was a mess-up with the breakfast order when about twice as much food as we had ordered showed up - not sure how they thought a family of was going to plough through 16 sausages, 16 slices of toast and 16 eggs! Never mind, it was pretty tasty all the same.

Room Tip: View from high floors good enough to be worth asking for

I booked a 2 bedroom apartment for a 4 night stay. Travelling with 2 friends we were looking for a comfortable and central option with this apartment and all of us agreed it certainly was that! One bedroom had a king bed and ensuite, the second bedroom had 2 single beds and a separate bathroom. The entry area was spacious, a separate laundry with washing machine, dryer and sink. A generous cupboard with a safe was also in the hallway. The kitchen was a good size, had electric hotplates, oven, dishwasher and the thing we all noticed was the daily housekeeping supplied us with the detergents! The open plan lounge area had good seating for us all and also a dining table. Two TVs, one in the master bedroom, and one in the lounge room. We had a high level floor apartment with a fantastic corner advantage on the 23rd floor. There were two balconies to enjoy the amazing views; the lounge balcony that we looked down to the harbour area and the second balcony on the entrance side where we could view the Skytower. I attended a conference at the Aotea Conference Centre and found it an easy 15 walk there easy day. We enjoyed had great dinners each night; three in Britomart (Café Hanoi, Britomart Country Club & Mexico Food & Liquor) and the in Parnell (Blue Elephant Thai Restaurant). Had a delicious brunch at Bambina on Ponsonby Road, and how easy was it to get there a $12 taxi fare or $1.90 on the inner link bus (green). When we arrived in Auckland we took the shuttle bus at NZD$16 each as there were three of us, however it wasn’t direct as we were dropped off in order of the other passengers on the bus. Returning to the airport we didn’t have the best taxi experience that was just over $70 and a not so friendly driver who attempted to take as an alternate route that would have taken longer. Loved our morning breakfast stops at Shaky Isles and Espresso Workshop in Britomart Precient just minutes walk away. The wonderful thing about these apartments are the position, comfort and size! There was a Countdown supermarket nearby as well as a liquor shop. We had wifi internet included in our room for all 3 of us as I am a GH member and we had 5 devices running in our room at no cost – this is a wonderful inclusion for friends travelling together or a family as we found some apartments in Auckland were charging NZD$8.00 per person per day! The gym facilities were good in a room with a nice view out to the city. The pool & spa were next door with a safety glass door and would be suitable for a family to use as the depth is 1.2m. I enjoyed the stay in these apartments. They are very clean, modern and each of the staff we dealt with at reception were friendly. Would consider staying here again!

Absolutely great service, great breakfast and wonderful location. After a delayed flight the personal touch of the smallest things made the biggest impression I.e fresh milk in the fridge. I'd recommend this hotel 1000%

Excellent. Not only location wise but amenity wise. We booked a high floor one bed apartment and was pleasantly surprised. Everything you could ask for. Beautiful view, quiet apartment, lovely decor. Nice big bathroom with shower and bath. Separate laundry with washer and dryer, functional kitchen with dishwasher. (one little bug: there was no instruction manual / card for the dishwasher) Ample cupboard space. Spa bath and fitness centre.
Very well situated for downtown shopping, close to Britomart if you intend making use of the train or bus. Airport bus departs a very short walk from the hotel. Friendly staff.

We were in a 2 bedroomed apartment on the 14th floor. My kids loved the swimming pool and spa area and this was one of the main reasons I decided to stay here. Location is ideal and being able to park in the building made life a lot easier. Rooms were spacious. I have given this a very good rating because the room was not ready on our arrival at 3.30pm so this was a little disappointing and the sofa bed had not been organised.

We enjoyed our short stay at Quay West Suites in Auckland nothing was a problem. The suite was very well presented and we had a lovely view of the harbour. Had a casual meal in their eatery and this was great as well.
We would definitely use them again. Thank you

Room Tip: we were in suite 1605 great view and very comfortable.

Not what I expected, based upon the previous reviews at 5*
Nice hotel, great central location; not much to offer on the food front but it is an apartment hotel.
Our room was large and fuctional, "everything they said, on the tin," clean and presentable.
Because of the location you can see all that Auckland has to offer. The ferry terminal was 250 meters down hill and all the associated attractions for food and beverage on the piers, made for an enjoyable stay. The Providor with happy hour 3pm until 7pm was certainly worth a visit. $8 for a beer and a vodka with mixer for my better half, was good value indeed.
I would recommend the hotel However, again they use the same old scam on internet at $25 per 24 hours, so don't be fooled!

Room Tip: Go for a high floor with sea view, really nice. Otherwise you will be looking at just another buildi...
