We enjoyed our tour. Very informative guide. Well worth the $10 entrance fee. Lovely to be able to wander around at your leisure. Highly recommend.

Highwic is located on the top of a small hill. The house is a fine example of architecture and decoration of that time.

Hi. I walk through highwic quite often to get from gillies ave to countdown much quicker. (I get hungry).
And it's a nice looking house from the outside. And on a sunny day it's a nice walk. On a rainy day I don't even go walking

Wonderfully preserved, a little spooky too! A genuine step back in time! Lots of great history to be learned here. I would definitely visit again!

We used to live in Epsom Surrey England so had to see Highwic in Epsom Auckland. Fortunately it has not been destroyed although a motorway runs right by it (a companion house was demolished). It was being repaired during our visit but was still open at $10 a throw. My wife wondered if it would be worth it. She agreed afterwards it was. A surprising home with large ballroom, a boys dorm, lovely gardens, home to 21 children (14 ladies, 7 chaps). Real history, lived in by family until 1970s, from about 1850.
