If you love architecture you HAVE to vist the Toi o Tamaki. They did a fantastic job crossing the old, heritage part with a beautiful, elegant contenporary one. Stylised references to trees and maori culture, plenty of light and transparency, and very enjoyable spaces inside.
The new and old parts mix effertlessly, taste and measure everywhere. It fully deserves the "World Building of the Year Award" it won in 2013.
Beautiful collections too, but I'm a spoiled italian... Anyway it displays both ancient and contemporary artworks, worth a visit as much as the building.
I hope you'll enjoy as much as I did!
