I read many Trip Advisor reviews prior to booking our hotel and we were disappointed by our studio. The bed was not comfortable, the furniture was old. The bedroom/bathroom/kitchenette need to be updated. Although it was a non-smoking room, there was a cigarette smell in our room. There was a small balcony. I was told by the reception staff that the accommodations are owned by individual owners (maybe we were just not lucky with this particular accommodation). On the positive side, the staff at the reception was nice and helpful. The location was perfect (centre of the city) and walking distance from restaurants, ferry, shops. Included in the price was a continental breakfast which was OK. We love our coffees so we decided to order "flat white" at extra cost and it was unfortunately disappointing.

Staying for a month in any hotel will give you the REAL impression of that place. The Quest on Queen street was....nice. the staff were very more than willing to try and accomodate you. They even let us store our belongings and car there while we were technically not checked in anymore for a weekend. When you stay for that long, room service is reduced to twice a week which is okay but garbage tends to fill up quickly for two. Room service staff were nice and respectful. The only thing I didn't like was that our particular room, on one of the southern corners, had a business building only meters away and they could look into your room at all times. So unless you close the curtains (which darken the rooms significantly), you have no privacy. I caught myself multiple times doing something embarrassing only to realize that I may have been watched. Also the corner balconies are a little small and ours was always covered in water from the a/c unit. Other than that, I was a good place to stay, right near the heart of queen street, the casino and cbd.

We stayed for 4 nights and found our accommodation to be an excellent base for exploring Auckland. Our apartment was at the rear of the building and we had a wonderful view over Myers Park and the Sky Tower. The apartment was quiet, immaculate and had brilliant facilities. The staff were very helpful and the breakfasts delicious. A very enjoyable relaxing stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the rear are quieter.

We stayed at Quest Auckland for the last night of our NZ holiday. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the room and facilities. Our room contained a comfortable king-size bed, a small kitchette and large bathroom. Free parking was very useful whereas most hotels charge $20-40 (don't try to take a large car into the carpark though!), and the included light breakfast in the room was welcome as we had a very early flight.

After a very early disembarkation from our cruise ship we decided to take our bags to the hotel for storage, although they didn't have a storage room as such the staff were very happy to look after them for us until the room was ready. We left for the day and explored the beautiful city of Auckland and on return in the afternoon we found that our bags had been taken up to our room, Thanks.

We were staying for 4 nights and we found that the Two Bedroom apartment was actually a studio and one bedroom apartment with an interconnecting room. This worked perfectly for us as we had two bathrooms, two laundry's and it meant we could all have some privacy and meet up when we wanted. The furnishings looked like they had been recently replaced and the kitchen had plenty of utensils and cooking supplies for a couple of nights stay.

It is only a short walk to restaurants and cafes and we found the public transport was easy to get to from the hotel. We chose the continental breakfast package and so had bread, cereal, juice and spreads delivered to our room each day, it wasn't an amazing breakfast but was nice and simple after being on the ship. There is also a hot breakfast option available in the cafe and it was sampled by one of us and they said it was more substantial.

The only major issue is that we had hired a car for 2 of the days and we had arranged for a parking permit from reception but there was no spots available, we went up to reception and she soon found some spots for us and another couple with the same issue. The next day was better but the spots are very tight.

just had a pleasant 2 nights at the Quest Auckland. The staff are really friendly, and nothing is too much trouble. The studio room was clean, with everything needed to be self sufficient if you wanted too. Had dinner in the Balcony restaurant which was excellent value for money, and enjoyed it very much. Many thanks to Kate who found my bag, and was returned very quickly. The room had breakfast provisions supplied if you wanted them, or the continental buffet was free which was really well supplied and the service was great. Would have no hesitation staying here again, or telling my friends to stay here. If the walk up the hill from the Quay area worries you, the red bus costs 50 cents and drops you almost outside the hotel.

This was a good value but limited facilities and services.
Breakfast was simple and lovely. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are a bit larger than the Quest Hotel on the other end of the street but a little older looking.
The price was reasonable and rooms overlooking the park it has a lovely view.
