We stayed here for one night as a family of 5. Had a bit of an incident when we first arrived, which we found more hilarious than inconvenient, and it really was a genuine mistake. We booked a two bedroom apartment which basically meant we had two apartments which could be joined by closing off the main corridor door and opening the doors to the apartments off a small foyer. We entered the first apartment, and on flinging the door open to the second adjoining apartment found someone in it already. Gave the poor man a hell of a fright. The situation was very quickly resolved by the hotel staff though, with many apologies and we weren't at all bothered, just more amused.
With the two apartments we had heaps of space, and the rooms were very well equipped. The beds were comfortable and the provision of a carpark (very tight but a bonus for Queen St) and breakfast was great.
Downside was one room (1210) was a bit tired, the couch had stains on it (which just made it feel yuccy) and there was some very obvious wear and tear in the bathroom that could do with tidying up.
Aside from that we found it a great location, reasonably good value for what we paid - just felt it maybe could of been slightly more maintained.

We stayed here for 3 nights whilst exploring Auckland and the surrounding area, it was perfect for what we needed, hassle free, clean, all the facilities you could need and a very comfortable bed!! what we really liked was there was a radio in the room, sounds silly but a lot of hotels lack this, enough cooking facilites to cook up breakfasts and small snacks but not much more. Great to have a washing machine and tumble dryer, we had a lovely view off the balcony onto some sort of park and it was a perfect wander down queen street each day or evening.

We decided to book into the Quest Auckland after our planned trip for the Rolling Stones was postponed and we thought we would still use our flights and come for a weekend away. What an amazing place. We were greeted by friendly recption staff and upon opening the door to our one bedroom apartment we were welcomed with soft lighting on to show the way and the stereo on. The amenities are fantastic with everything thought of including the little things like the body lotion which was perfect as I had left my moisturisor at home. The apartment was equipped with a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer which would be perfect for a long stay. The room was very spacious and looked out over a park at the back of the motel. The bed was very comfortable and we had amazing views of the city. The balcony is small but its still a bonus to be able to step outside for some fresh air. The continental breakfast was a bonus and was replenished every morning. The location is also a bonus as we were able to walk everywhere and the public transport system is more or less outside the motel. I cannot fault this motel at all and I am suprised at some of the other reviews but we obviously had a refurbished unit, but it was enough to ensure that we will be returning again.

Room Tip: I would chose a room to the back of the motel that looks out over the park.

A great hotel very close to the hub of the city. All the comforts you need, with our fridge stocked daily with bread, juice & milk. We booked a one bedroom apartment. Great views. Parts of the room a bit tired but very clean. Staff helpful. Balcony incredibly small, could fit two people standing. Otherwise, would recommend.

Arrived at 6:00 pm to find no-one at reception. Waited almost 10 minutes for someone to arrive.
Got my key and went up to find myself in a very small single room, not the 1 bed apartment I had booked.
Back to reception and changed the room.
Room was very dated and tired with stained carpet.
Balcony so small, it would be difficult for 2 people to stand on it. Only place to sit was on the a/c unit.
Parking is free, which is rare in Auckland, but very tight
This property is very tired, and although a good location, and value, does not match what is available elsewhere in Auckland

Hi John,
Thank you for your feedback,
I’m sorry to hear a staff member was not at the desk to greet you on arrival. Being a small property, we do sometimes need to leave the desk during a shift to help another guest in the hotel, however if this happens, there should always be a sign informing you of this; I will ensure that this is happening every time.
I’m disappointed that you where not happy with your room, it would be great to get some more details from you (room number/surname), so I can look into this further, as we certainly should not have any stained carpets within the building.
My direct email is questauck@xtra.co.nz or give me a call on 09 300 2200.
Kind Regards, Rachael, Rooms Division Manager
