“Super Hotel”

This was a superb place to get over what was fairly horrific jet lag. Great bar, adequate bedroom and two well appointed restaurants with good (not great) food. We stayed in a Club room and if you eat breakfast and drink alcohol would urge you to consider this option as we found it quite cost effective. The breakfast food was lovely and the two hour long ‘free’ cocktail hour was generous – easily possible to drink a bottle of wine each if you were so inclined with delicious canapés and indeed a generous enough buffet that if you had had lunch you could probably get by with no more food. The club room area itself was also a useful, pleasant and quiet space.

We ate in the main 24 hour restaurant the first night (SPF?) and had very acceptable oysters and exceedingly well cooked steaks with lovely mash and beans. The second night we enjoyed the fine dining restaurant ‘Partingtons’. Decor is lovely, the service nice and the food was fine – but perhaps not as great as the hype might lead you to believe – however it also wasn’t as expensive as we expected either so no complaints. The shuttle to town worked well for us and getting cabs back was easy and inexpensive. We had a look at the Hilton for our return journey – the reception had a queue, it felt very clinical, it was nearly double the cost and the architecture was unappealing to us so we decided against however the location by the ferry terminal is ideal.

stayed here twice.. first time at the beginning of a tour of new zealand stayed on 4th floor
no real complaints restaurant did not have much selection for a light meal option otherwise ok.
our tour finished in christchurch but onward flight was from auckland so flew to auckland and decided to book the limo pick up from auckland airport for second stay, also booked the upgraded rooms on 6th floor this time as it mentioned free internet. also pre booked breakfast. picked up from airport no problems even 'checked in' in the lexus limousine that picked us up on arrival to hotel went straight to room although this meant taking our cases up ourselves. the room seemed smaller and the bathroom felt very compact compared to 4th floor room previous the 'free' internet charged me $9.95 for an hour and the breakfast we had following morning they charged me, so went to the reception to see why! the internet was 'free to use cable in room but had to pay to connect' also breakfast was not included as it said 'BK0' on my booking I did not have time to check my paperwork as i was away all day for our last full day here on a frip to bay of islands.
the following morning didnt bother with breakfast but when checking out same gentleman in reception so showed him my paperwork showing breakfast included but he came up with some excuse that "the web special is only if you have full breakfast you get discount of a few dollars" i said it does not state that on any paperwork or the internet so he said he would make sure it was changed. not very helpful at all then to cap it all went out to meet the 'limo' for the return trip to airport only to find a taxi cab waiting...... the driver said the limo's dont run early in the morning and it would have been cheaper for me to book direct with his taxi firm felt the whole stay spoilt by the member of staff in reception being unhelpful and being swindled out of $75 charge for a less than $50 taxi fare. overall not worth upgrading rooms or using the limo service. its too far out from city centre, very steep hill to climb last bit to hotel better off going to hotel nearer the quayside.

We stayed here for two nights after a long distance flight, and loved it. The first nice surprise was that the airport bus stops directly outside the front door. The room was spacious, attractive and comfortable. Staff were pleasant and helpful (one of our cases had been lost at Sydney airport). Another nice surprise was that the SBE bar serves good quality simple bar food at very reasonable prices. Breakfasts in the SBF grill were dearer, but excellent. We thought the price we paid was reasonable for a genuine 5* hotel. The hotel is away from the waterfront, but there is a free shuttle. We missed this, but the ordinary bus is only 50 cents. The location is on the corner of the famous K’ Road, and is also an easy walk to the Auckland Domain (recommended). We would definitely stay here again.

I stay in quite a few hotels with my work. This is by far the best hotel I have ever stayed in. The luxurious surrondings are only topped by the attention to detail and extremely friendly service at the Langham. Just an example.....when you valet your car they place bottles of water in the car for your convenience when you are picking it up.

I can't wait to come back!

Elagant hotel and great service. Rooms were beautiful and great dining in hotel. The hotel is not located near the ferry but is near store etc and businesses. The hotel has their own shuttle van that runs every 15 minutes to downtown by ferry etc. Good fitness center. Absolutely perfect hotel!

Luxury accommodation and caring staff . (Friend needed hospitalisation all staff showed concern and courtesy) Spa facility special. Breakfast a real treat. I would recommend this hotel for its style and attention to detail. City hotel but so quiet and peaceful.
We will return to enjoy the hotel fully.

We stayed for one night and the Langham, and had a great stay. We arrived very early and our room was not ready yet, and their great staff kindly offered us tea and coffee while we waited. We decided to take a walk around the city while we waited, and the front staff was kind enough to provide a map and suggested a nice walking route. The bed was comfortable, the room was quiet, and management even brought a complimentary fruit plate up to our room. Also very convenient for those who are arriving via the Airbus, as the Langham is the first stop. Hotel also has a complimentary shuttle service that drops guests off maybe a block away from the ferry. We would definitely stay again!
