My wife and I finished our cruise and went directly (only a couple of blocks and easy to walk to) to the Sebel Suites. Even at 9am, they were ready for us! The location, with the yacht harbor just out the back and downtown a few blocks away, is outstanding. The facilities are fine, and the staff responsive. Having the mini-kitchen, including laundry, worked well for us.
Restaurants nearby were excellent.

We decided to stay in the City of Sails over night to attend a business Christmas function at the Auckland Harbour. Drinking + driving is not our scene, so booked for the night at the Sebel Hotel Auckland Viaduct. What a great idea this was...... our suite was really well equiped, the staff at the Sebel extremely helpful and attentive, advising on the best place for breakfast and shopping (not realizing we actually live in Auckland. The bathroom was extremely clean and, (the towels could have been bigger) The Hotel itself would be ideal to stay if one was in Auckland on business. I would recommend this Hotel above many others in the vacinity.

Room Tip: Rooms on the City side are quieter

Great location.
Rooms and facilities excellent.
Reception poor - "do you want a hand with all your luggage?"
Would like to return.

We have stayed here a few times when we just need 1-2 nights in the city. Location is fantastic on the harbour front.

Dedicated parking spots in the multi storey carpack next door makes it all very convenient. $26 for 24hrs is not too bad considering location and ease.

Rooms are spacious, modern and well equiped. Would highly recommend over the bigger international branded places.

We arrived here on our last night in NZ after a two-week trip. After two weeks of great hospitality everywhere we went with the friendliest staff we've ever met who go out of their way to help you, we were expecting the same at Sebel. We had a long day of traveling and we didn't get in until late so weren't in the best moods ourselves, but the staff didn't so much as say "Welcome" or "How are you?" and didn't even smile once. Perhaps it's because it was a Friday night and they didn't like being stuck at work, but you really shouldn't be in hospitality if you can't be friendly or even crack a smile to guests.

Taking the advice given from some Tripadvisor reviewers, we booked a city-facing room to avoid the noise. It didn't help. Granted we were given a room on the first floor, but we were woken up at 3am with the noise coming form the nearby club. Another gripe was the washroom - the shower pressure was pretty weak and the worst we've had throughout our trip, even compared to cheaper accommodations.

The rest of the room was nice though - great kitchen, bedroom and location is not bad. Even so though considering all the cons, not sure if we'd want to come back.
