Stayed here one night only. Except for initial trouble locating where to park everything else went smoothly. Lovely room with everrything I needed for a pleasant stay.
Would definitely stay again - best location for access to the Viaduct

The location of the hotel is great. The noise levels are really high if you are there on a weekend. The bedroom is pretty claustrophobic and the bed was way too small. I am pretty sure it was a double and it has been a long time since I slept in a double bed. Kitchen facilities and laundry were good.My access card got de-activated half an hour before checkout which meant I was up and down trying to get my things out of the room. Even after I was assured it had been re-activated I still had to go back down and get it activated again. Arriving back at 2am to find the carpark had been over booked led to having to find alternative parking at that time of the morning. I doubt that I would stay there again.

Room Tip: I don't think there was a swimming pool or fitness centre- if there was it is not advertised wel...

On our recent visit to Auckland we stayed at the sebel suites, found the room very spacious, great facilities, however being a Saturday night we endured a sleepless night due to being above the Fox bar which seemed to party all night long.So definitely bring earplugs if you intend to stay here.

We had a childless weekend in the city without kids, and the Sebel Suites were the perfect choice. Great Viaduct harbour location, walking distance to any downtown/Queen Street, or Wynyard Quarter location.
I looked on Wotif for a discounted tariff, but found the best deals on the Sebel website itself. Because it was a special occasion and we wanted to entertain friends we chose to pay extra for a 1 bedroom Queen Marina Deluxe suite. These rooms are on the Viaduct Harbour side, and comes with a seperate bedroom and a large lounge - . It has two balconies looking over the harbour - a small one in the bedroom, and a larger one with cafe table and chairs - perfect for breakfast in the sun. Friends who have stayed previously have had a room with a window instead of a balcony, and on the "back" side looking at the Customhouse Carpark, and said they much prefered our front room and balcony.
We also paid for the "Romance" package which included underground parking (normally $26/night), late checkout (1pm), and bottle of champagne. I joined their GHA Loyalty card for free, and that gave us free internet (normally $23/night). All up we paid NZ$259 inclusive, which I thought was good for what we got. I felt that the Romance package offered good value with its additional inclusions.
The suite was very nicely furnished, nothing looked tatty or tired. The bedroom was small, but had a tiny balcony of its own. I can't figure why it has a queen bed instead of a king. There is a full laundry in a cupboard in the bathroom. Separate bath and shower.
The lounge was spacious, with a full six seating dining table, 2 person sofa, 2 bucket chairs. The lounge also has a full wet bar, with full oven (who knows - maybe you want to bake a cake!), hotplates, microwave, large fridge/freezer etc. All very comfortable and ideal for entertaining friends before heading out for the evening.
A french press coffee plunger is provided, but for some reason only instant coffee sachets are complimentary, so if you like plunger coffee, bring your own as the hotel charges $8 for this.
Location in the corner of the Viaduct Harbour is perfect. Step outside on the harbour side, and you are surrounded by cafes and bars. Monsoon Poon - one of Auckland's best Asian Fusion restaurants (similar to P.F.Changs) is straight across the road from the main hotel lobby.
We stayed a Saturday night, and naturally there was noise from the bars below in the evening, but that was to be expected. We found that when the doors on the balcony were closed, the noise was not an issue.
All in all, we felt the Sebel Suites were perfect for what we were looking for, and would happily go back. The cost of the bigger room with the balcony was higher, but we felt it was worth the extra expense.

Room Tip: Harbour facing with Balcony (Queen Marina Deluxe) rooms are worth the extra cost. Ask for a balcony...

The suites have everything you need including laundry facilities. We had joined the Sebel hotel club at our last Sebel stay and this entitled us to free wifi - worth checking on. The position is excellent with many restaurants to choose from along the marina. Parking underneath the hotel - a bit pricey. Worth trying to negotiate all extras before fully checking in.

We stayed for a weekend and found the suites to be well appointed with all that we needed. It was great to be able to open the windows for fresh air, unlike a lot of places. The viaduct location is close to the city and very easy to get a ferry or other transport to other parts of the city or nearby islands..
There were some good touches like docks to play music from Iphones and all the laundry and kitchen equipment you need. Overall comfort is really good. It’s definitely worth getting the waterfront rooms as the front of the hotel (when we were there) has a view of,well, nothing. Actually it was a car park and construction site.
Lots of choices for food nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms looking over the marina are a lot nicer, but they do charge considerably more for them.

I have stayed at the Sebel Suites about 4 times in the past two years. It has become my husband and I's choice of an inner city hotel if we are going to have a little city getaway or celebrate an event. The location is fantastic and we really enjoy sitting out on the balcony overlooking the viaduct with a bottle of wine (or two!) taking in the views and people watching. its a great place to stay at if you have an event in the city or want to go out and party the night away without worrying how to get home. We always book the marina deluxe suite and have managed to get the same room every single time! Over the years the apartment is starting to show signs of wear and tear and it could do with a bit of a tidy up, but I still feel its great value for money and love the kitchen facilities, balcony etc. Service is always prompt. The in-room dining is always fantastic, prompt and great value for money (particularity as it comes from the local viaduct restaurants). Have never had any problems with noise from the viaduct if all doors are shut. We really enjoy our time at the Sebel and would definitely stay there again.
