Owner description: Auckland’s main street is home to numerous shops, restaurants and entertainment centers.

Auckland residents don't shop in town.
In fact it's really only city office workers and tourists that frequent Queen Street. This is a shame because if they could get rid of the tacky tourist shops, pushy camera-store salespeople, 'in your face' beggars, lousy Wi-Fi coverage and premium prices Queen Street would be a lovely thoroughfare.

If you have a day 'up your sleeve', leave your car at your hotel/motel, and take a bus or train to down-town Auckland. Here you can start your walk up Auckland's Queen Street, and spend all day shopping! There is an extensive variety of shops on Queen St, as well as the numerous 'side streets' along the way! You won't get hungry, or go thirsty whilst you shop, as there are plenty of cafes, fast food restaurants, family entertainment venues, and bars, to keep the family going, especially on a hot summer's day! It will take a good day to walk both sides of Queen St, you choose how long you want, but a must for any-one visiting Auckland.

Queen Street is the main street in Auckland Central for shoppers, food lovers and bars visitors as all of these are available along this street. We were told that Friday and week end nights were the most crowded, and therefore, please be alerted for drunken people when visited this area during Friday and week end nights .......

All the best retail outlets are on Queen St. or immediately adjacent to it on a cross street. There are also a lot of eating places along the street on the side streets. There's a shopping mall at the foot of the street near the Ferry Building. There's a Chinese massage shop on the ground floor of the mall where you can get a great foot massage (reflexology). Highly recommend it.

Queen street is generally clean and tidy and an enjoyable place to be. Although walking from one end to another on a hot day can feel never ending!
