Great boutique hotel with wonderful hospitality and service, and in a great location for downtown Auckland, Viaduct and Vector Arena.

Interesting decor and cleverly designed throughout, the hotel has a charm and personal touch that's lost amongst the bigger chains.

Everything about Hotel DeBrett is fabulous. It is located in the heart of the CBD (so no major views) but in a great spot! All of the rooms are double glazed. I did not hear a thing outside. We were even by the lift and there was very, very minimal lift noise! The room exceeded my expectations. We had a suite so there was a separate bedroom and lounge room. The bathroom has a separate shower, a huge bath and twin wash basins. There are a few bars and a restaurant within the hotel, which you cannot hear from he room. The service was excellent. The restaurant is excellent too. I would highly recommend this boutique hotel. It even comes with free wi-fi which a lot of hotels seem to want to charge a fortune for!

Room Tip: I think any room here would be a quiet room as they are all double glazed. The free wi-fi is a great bonus.

The charming receptionist came out from the desk to greet us at the door. That kind of friendly, helpful service continued throughout our stay. The hotel is chic in décor and the rooms are very comfortable. Perfect location for strolling to the waterfront and people watching in this active neighborhood. Also a very good restaurant and trendy bar on site. Only complaint was a very expensive wine list with no bottle under $65.

We had a great time at the DeBrett. Handy location. Excellent service. Restaurant and bar are quite good and the place has some style which separates it from the bigger, corporate hotels. It is a bit expensive but worth it.

We stayed in de Brett's for two nights on the recommendation of a knowledgable friend. Unfortunately the hotel didn't deliver on the package offered and we were allocated a small suite with no external light and with internal windows that were overlooked by the restaurant and the bar in the hotel. Most disappointing was the response to any adverse comments made with advice being given that we could create more privacy by pulling blinds and curtains over the offending windows. While obviously improving our privacy it simply exacerbated the claustrophobic character of a small suite with no natural light.

Room Tip: Insist on a room or suite with external windows.
