room reasonable to good for the price. close to the centre of auckland although being a mountain goat would help. This applies to a fair part of Auckland anyway. No car parking on site and management were not all that helpful in suggesting what happens or where to park when you have a vehicle.

Had a very comfortable night's stay here.

The reception and communal areas were pleasantly decorated; the reception staff were friendly and efficient. The room was well equipped with twin beds, a balcony, a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV, and a private doorbell and telephone number.

The bathroom was fine, and came with a dedicated washing machine and dryer just for the use of the room, which was very useful given the amount of travelling we'd been doing.

Location was fine - about 10 - 15 minutes walk to the harbour area or the main CBD shopping, bar and restaurant areas. Hotel was located on a quiet street, so didn't get disturbed by any city noise.

We didn't have a car with us at this point, so can't comment on the availability of parking (or otherwise).

Avoid. Booking was difficult, with no confirmation email sent as promised, and incorrect credit card details recorded by staff.

Room was not as booked, even though confirmed twice by telephone. Additional bed that should have been provided as part of the room booked was provided only after much argument. We booked this specific room expecting two proper beds, not a rollaway.

No check in/reception, we arrived at 3pm on Saturday to find our key in an envelope in the front lock box.

Room was clean but furniture was of poor quality and broken. Insufficient hot water for bathing, and additional charges made for parking.

Advertised panoramic view was into lounge room of ground floor apartment next door. Homeless people by the front door at all hours did not add to the ambience.

Emails of complaint to management were bounced from address provided on the Quest website. Phone went straight to voicemail.

They should have spent their advertising budget on refurbishment and staff training!

This apartment block is in need of a major refurbishment or, at the very least, some TLC. In our opinion, the main photograph of the block used on their website has had some doctoring.

The staff were all very helpful especially when we had a slight emergency to deal with. The apartment was very compact with a small balcony but no air conditioning, although a fan was provided.

This apartment is not centrally located, it took at least 10mins to walk to the nearest main transport links. There is a free bus service, running a circular route which we used but this was again a 10 min. walk away.

Stayed in Quest on Eden Apt for 8 days (dec 2003) was acceptable. It was a big apartment, complete with kitchen (wok, plates, toaster, etc), bathroom (shower and toilet), 2 big sleeping rooms, living room, dining room, and balcony. You also got your own key for main door and garage for your car. The room was clean and fresh, but you always have to remaind the housekeeping to clean it up. If you want to go to suburb (Queens street), you have to walk around 10 minutes or 5 minutes by bus. The location and view were not so good, but the price was fair. Also not so far from the bus shelter. Myself, wil not recomend this apt, but if you're looking for the fair price and good accomodation, definetely should be this apt.
