We had anticipated and booked a single bedroom suite. We were given the worst room in the corner of the hotel, dark and cramped. Very gloomy. We discovered they had harbour facing rooms in the same category available and fortunately managed to transfer. But unfortunately we wasted 1 1/2 hours of our precious overnight away to sort it out. Be careful about the room you are given.

The hotel is good enough for a stop over. Very 70's decor. There were carpet squares in the elevator lobby on our floor that were badly stained. They detracted from the appearance and given that they were carpet squares it should not have been too difficult to replace or move to a less conspicuous area. The room had new furnishings such as a modern vanity in the bathroom but the tiles were broken and old. The television was small and awkwardly place in an alcove where it was only visible to the person who lies on the right side of the bed.The web site appeared different such as the hotel has no kitchen therefore no restaurant. We had arrived late and was hoping to order room service. They do have a room that serves continental breakfast for $19 but I am unsure how one does breakfast without a kitchen. Parking a car in their hotel cost $30 a day. As I said stop over is OK as the hotel is walking distance to the docks and multiple restaurants.

Room Tip: WE have heard from others that only some rooms have been refurbished

My visit started by arriving at the hotel and finding out my booking had been cancelled without my permission. No apology, just a delay until 3pm until check in. After being offered a room upgrade, I felt that even though the staff member was rude, arrogant, and didnt appreciate that I had to delay check in for a room that should have been clean at 2pm, I still felt maybe with the upgrade she slightly understood my concerns.

Unfortunately, this was not the case.

After I returned to the hotel 1 hour later, the previous offer of an upgrade was totally denied. By this point, I couldnt be bothered to argue with the member of staff completely lacking in empathy. Again still no apology, just that everything "wasn't the hotels fault".

Cigarettes all over balcony, previous guests litter under the beds, and mattress that was made in the 90's. When I left the room hoping it would be made up the next day, I returned to find out that a room clean at this hotel constitutes two new towels....nothing else, just two new towels.

Such a shame, this place could be fantastic, new beds and a bit of staff training. But until then, avoid like a rash, chances are your money will be wasted.

We were lucky to have a good deal for a studio BUT that good deal was too good to be true. The studio was exactly above the entrance of the garage. We unfortunately, couldn't open the window/slide door due to the constant noise. Glad that the fan worked properly. The bathtub was too high to climb out after a shower. The studio was fine and clean. The bathroom can use a good make over. Overall, it wasn't too bad for just a one night stay over. The staff that day were friendly.

Midnight when we arrived tired and travel weary. The rooms were pleasant, clean and comfortable
Breakfast was good a nice choice of food and the staff looked after us very well.As a stop over the hotel was very nice. I can't comment about staying there on holiday because we only had two nights.

Spent a ridiculous amount to stay in this filthy, holes in walls (USED SOAP and used towels in bathroom), no feather pillows (or any options for pillows at all except hard as rock foam pillows). I stay in a lot of hotels for work and this is the worst hotel I've ever stayed at in Auckland. Just a very poor hotel-- in desperate need of an update, better options for guests (come on, how expensive are maybe 10 extra feather pillows for guests that need them to sleep?!) Location is what the hotel has going for it, but its loud and in general a very under-par, under-mediocre hotel. Only worth around $75 a night-- don't pay more than that to stay here!

Room Tip: Avoid this hotel. Loud rooms that face the motorway with no sound barriers. "King beds" ar...
