“Always something happening in this pleasant park”
Reviewed 30 April 2014

Passed through Albert Park a several times in my few days in Auckland. Nothing spectacular, just a nice little park right near the city centre. Always seems to be something interesting happening in there, or just people relaxing on the lawns. Also really nicely tended garden beds, including an impressive floral clock. Great way of passing from the city to the university, and vice versa. I also recommend walking through the park on your way to the Art Gallery as you get a much better feeling for how the architecture of the more recent parts of the gallery have been designed to blend into the park itself. You wouldn't go to Auckland just to visit this park, but the park is a lovely place to visit while in Auckland.

“Peaceful area in the middle of town”
Reviewed 22 April 2014 via mobile

We walked by on a sunny day and found a green oasis, nicely arranged with a lot of benches. A calm place to relax.

As the park is adjacent to Auckland University there were several students sitting on benches with books on their laps, enjoying the sun as we did. Nice location for a University.

Don't forget to take a look at the garden clock.

“A small green oasis”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

This is a wee park in NZ or Aus. terms but nevertheless wonderfully kept and looked after by the thousands who use it every week.

You will not get solitude but it is a nice little park to wander thru' close to the Uni.. it is very heavily used by students but this does not detract from its pleasant atmosphere.

it is not a specific attraction of Auck. But if you are in the vicinity take a detour thru' it on your way to your destination

“Relaxation in the center of the city”
Reviewed 26 March 2014

Not a very big park but centrally located with lots of park benches to sit and sun, if you are so inclined. Nice and quiet for relaxing while walking around Auckland Central.

“Beautiful!”
Reviewed 3 March 2014

Our family participates in any Chinese New Year, Chinese Lantern Festival, etc. that is available and Auckland's was well presented. We attended on "lantern only" night as that's our favorite experiences. No vendors, just lanterns. Well placed in Albert Park adjacent to the Art Museum, great views make great photos and memories. We had a little rain but the massive trees offered ideal protection from getting overly wet and wet conditions often make for better photos. We saw some 'new' lanterns in Auckland. We'd attended the Lantern Fest in Christchurch in 2009 and that was much smaller in comparison. Always great to see the beautiful lanterns lit up near historical statues to get that 'east meets west' feeling of peace and harmony.
