Great slap stick, light relief play. The pom humour and timing was fantastic. Great cast, great set, great script and the venue was brilliant. After the show mingled with some of the actors and lapped up the Auckland Arts festival ambience and beer, well done Auckland on another great Arts festival. Don't do it every year though. Every two years is a much better choice.

There's lots to this place; a big stage theatre, a bar, a little stage theatre, and the large paved area which usually has some kind of exhibition or activity set up on it. Auckland City Council is trying to generate a sense of community and pride about this place - but haven't quite hit the nail on the head yet .......

Its a space that could have been done so much better. Its an open space with a few small trees. The 'lawns' are in poor condition. I have had lunch on the park benches numerous times this year. No shelter if it rains. The Pub on one edge is poor drab condition not somewhere I would go for a significant event. but being upgraded with a balcony.Council uses area as an outdoor event centre. As a world class plaza ,it falls short .Try Albert Park a short walk away much better place to be

This is probably the most enticing of the theatre venues in Auckland. Very easy to access, good seating and adequate acoustics. It might not have the romance of the old Civic Theatre down the road but it is a good place to see a major show.
