“noisy and way to crowded”
Reviewed 7 July 2014

Had brunch here on a Sunday morning. The place was full. I must admit the staff were great ( and very attractive). but the food and ambience was a shocker.
I had the Chicken and Salad sandwich. It was a good 4 cm of sliced/minced chicken and a bit of lettuce. Plonk on the side a small dish of Gravy and that's it. Cold sandwich with a hot dip.
if you sit to close to the door you have the joy of peoples backsides in your face as they try to pay and you try to eat...charming.
if you do go get a both or a table down the far end.

“Great brunch, fast and friendly service”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

The food here is well priced, serve in a speedy manner by polite staff. Limitless cups of tea or bottomless filtered coffee.

I had the salmon bagel one morning, which was great. The pancakes looked like they would fill a gap.

Highly recommended.

“Interesting Menu, delicious food.”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

Fabulous New York style deli, great food with huge American servings. Four of us went for Sunday brunch, each ordered a different dish, so we got a good feeling of what was on offer. Suffice to say that there was not a crumb left on anybody's plate. Everything was scrumptious, though the pancakes stood out as the champion dish. The coffee was good and included endless refills, so great value.
The service was attentive, however we did have quite a long wait between ordering and receiving our food.

We love Federal Deli and now visit everytime we travel up to Auckland. We dropped in last Friday early doors and got a table immediately. I tried the spit roast chicken, slaw and poutine followed by the baked cheesecake which was divine and so very filling. Excellent service here and we love the New York deli vibe which really appeals to our teenagers. We can definitely recommend for family friendly dining.

“Great fun and food”
Reviewed 1 July 2014

The service was excellent from the start. The place was full but we waited at an outside table which was kept toasty by an outdoor heater. Before we knew it a place opened up at the bar stools. A fun place to sit watching the bar staff making drinks and the chefs cooking.
The food was varied and there were loads of things that we both would try. We had the chicken and gravy, schnitzel, and a simple cos lettuce salad. All very yummy with the best being the chicken. The salad was a nice surprise with generous blue cheese and mayo.

I would love to go return and try a breakfast here, or any other meal, as it was a winner for me.

Great interior design with attention to detail. The whole feel is a fun, retro, NY deli style which you can tell has been very well thought out right down to the visual design of the menu.

Put the Fed on your must do list.
