“Nice, tucked away spot”
Reviewed 23 September 2013 via mobile

These are slightly dated and spacious apartments not too far away from SkyCity and other main attractions in the city centre. The building is tucked away and in a quiet area with not much city noise at all. The furniture is slightly tired but overall well stocked and has a bath tub to unwind in too! Overall, it's a good value, standard hotel that doesn't try to be anything it's not.

Not what they say! Be aware! We booked by searching by "pool" as we have young kids. Get here and they say in the room brochure that the pool is 70 m away. Walk it and it is about 250 m away. The manager told us when we arrived on a Friday night at 7pm that the pool was closed when it was open to 10pm.
Peeling paint in the bathroom, not all switches work, 3 star heating that you have to plug in! Not at all what we expected (apart from great view) and we won't stay here again. Did I mention we had to get the manger to our room to fix the toilet when we arrived?

Stayed here for a few nights on my last visit to Auckland. Rooms are OK - nothing to write home about. Very noisy at night due to the location on a main road, very glad I bought my earplugs! Rusty and broken bathtub; and horrible (but funny) spelling mistakes in the welcome book! Wifi can only be used on one device at a time. To be honest I wouldn't stay here again.

I visited Auckland in July and August . Stayed at the Quest on Nelson. At that time it was a great hotel and the room was really nice complete with kitchen. I would stay there again all things being equal. Excellent value for the money.

Very noisy, busy road. This is a typical Quest, an older building given a lick of paint and new carpet. The management is Indian. There is a strange smell in the building, a sort of air freshener over curry smell. The room was ok on the third floor with small kitchen and laundry facilities in the bathroom. The shower was over a small bath. The paint is peeling off the bathroom walls. I only paid $120 for a night and $20 car parking so i didnt expect very much. I wouldnt stay there again its just too noisy.

We stayed at Quest on Nelson for 2 nights on arrival in Auckland then had a 2 night visit to Waiheke ( Quest stored our luggage for us) and back to Quest for another 3 nights. Our apartment was clean and spacious and well equipped with all you'd expect as well as a washing machine and tumble dryer. It was unfortunately VERY noisy - Nelson Street is very busy at all times of day and night! There is no air conditioning and the choice was a warm and noisy apartment or less warm but noisier one! The location is fine - 10 minute walk to Queen Street and about 20 mins to the Harbour area. Staff on reception were very pleasant and the young man on duty had our luggage already in our room when we returned from Waiheke. A word of warning - there is no ramp up to reception so an elderly or less able person might find it difficult to negotiate the steps with luggage. We enjoyed our visit to Auckland but because of the noise issue I'm not sure if I'd stay at Quest on Nelson again

3 of us staying 9 days 8 nights between winter and spring season. The weather is cold, wet but sunny.

The apartment is not very new, but we like it because there is a kitchen + washing machine + dryer + dish washer. They provided washing powder, towel, shampoo, and toileties.
During our stay, we're cooking as the outside food is really expensive. However, once a while, we do went out enjoy the local food.

The apartment is near the main road , therefore, there will be quite noisy during night time. you'll hear the vehicle horn and car passing by.

The internet wifi and car park is chargeable. However, we get a good deal with the lady staff as we are staying more than a week. And I have a good deal in hotel.com for about SGD90 per night ( twin bed + 1 extra bed ).

The location is walking distance to Sky Tower, Queen street. There is a shopping and backpacker street in queen street. You can walk to ferry terminal, and some of the happening place is there (drinking).

Nearby apartment there is many convenience shop managed by Chinese and Korean, you can buy food, vegetable , meat, hotdog for cooking.

The location is good for driving and non driving visitor. if you looking for short trip, relaxing in Auckland central, you can choose this apartment.
If you prefer to outskirt , and you may need to rent a car.

Room Tip: The apartment near the main road, try to avoid facing the main road, else will be quite noisy.
