Stayed 1 night as we live out of town and had a function to attend. Friendly service, lots of character with interesting historical photos everywhere. Room was big, had everything we needed, and was peaceful and quiet. Good security. Parking available nearby. Interesting shopping and eating in the arcades below the hotel. Will come back here next time we need to stay in town.

Hi
We stayed at this Hotel on Oct 26th in a 2bedrm apartment. These are basic apartments but they catered for what we needed. Great location and great price..... $175 for a two bedrm!! You cant beat that!!! We were heading off to The Phantom of the Opera which was just across the Road. The Staff were fantastic and helped us out. Caparking was only $22.00. We enjoyed it here and would stay here again. When you go to a new city, you dont sit in your room and complain!!! You go out to discover things. Nice stay!!!

These apartments are something very different. The building is very old but has been renovated to a high standard. Some floors are used for businesses other are apartments. We stayed in room 304 which was supposed to be a two bedroomed apartment. The bedrooms were only big enough for a double bed and small side cupboard. The bed had to be pushed up to the wall which meant if you needed to get up in the night you had to climb over the other person which was not ideal. There were no windows in the bedrooms and it felt like sleeping in a cupboard. There was no window in the bathroom but it was small and clean. The lounge/ kitchen area was very big but the only window in the whole apartment was small and overlooked a brick wall so we didn't get much light in at all. On arrival at the hotel you have to climb up around 12 steps to get to the reception. There is no lift to the reception area so it is not suitable for disabled people. There is a lift to the apartments. Good points were the location. This was right on the main street in Auckland and within walking distance of the tower (5 minutes). I would suggest you check out the room before confirming as it may disappoint - particularly if you are requesting 2 bedroom.

Great downtown location, only 1 block from Queen St. Excellent rooms, comfortable and classically/stylishly decorated. The apartment is fitted out with everything you could need, even random things like a cheese grater and potato peeler. The layout is well done and space is well utilized. The only problem was the noise from the people passing by outside after the bar closes. I'd ask reception (who were very nice) for a room a little off the street to try to reduce this only negative.

Congratulations on such a fantastic Hotel so close the main street. We booked two apartments and was pleasantly surprised with how warm and cosy they were. Very little road noise, fabulously comfortable beds and rooms very clean. We are two couples in our late 40s and would definately stay there again. Found the hotel on wotif website and couldnt believe how close to civic theatre, and perfect for catching the bus to Eden Park for All Blacks game. The hotel was very reasonably priced. Loved The Stables, again will be back, so central to everything we wanted to do. Very relaxing, nice to have opening windows and feel a breeze coming in. Infact the only negative comment may have been that it was a little warm in the room. Cant say enough about this hotel.
