A boutique hotel, clean room & well equipped kitchen facilities. Located uphill therefore a bit of climbing up & going down if going to city centre. City centre is approximately 5 mins walk. The executive 1 bedroom is comfortable for a family of 3. The 1 bedroom studio is a bit crampy so it is suitable for couple. My room is located on 17th floor & has a good view of the harbour. Hotel offers valet parking for a overnight charge of NZ$28 & will park your car at Wilson Parking next to hotel. However if you park on your own, it is only $15 for hotel guests at a 24 hrs basis. Hotel staff did not mention this, I chanced upon it accidentally. The charges is a great difference! On Sunday, parking is free so can park on the open carpark opposite the hotel or near Albert Park which is 5 mins walk from hotel.

I'm very impressed with this hotel, I requested a twin room a few days before arrival and my request was granted quickly and efficiently, what impressed me more was that I'd received a upgrade to a private apartment room with it's own kitchen, TV, balcony, a view of the harbour and nearby park.

At check-in I couldn't ask for more friendlier staff, one member went out of her way to give me loads of information on Auckland and even recommended other places I should go to in New Zealand, this is really good service after 28 hours worth of long haul travel.

The city is about a 5 to 10 minutes walk away and you're only minutes away from the harbour area, in room, Wi-Fi was included and was fast, the kitchen facilities were very good and the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was a bit cramped but the lovely shower made up for that.

I didn't use the bar or restaurant facilities but they always seemed busy which is always a good sign and I would stay here again.

Room Tip: Make sure you find the hotel on a map as it's tucked away in one of citys corner, could be diffi...

We booked this hotel as we had previously stayed here and found it quite good. Booking direct with the hotel is pricey but if you can hold out two weeks ahead of your arrival date, you can usually find some good deals for it on wotif.com where rooms are a third of the price.

However I wouldn't recommend staying here until they improve. The location is good, rooms generally clean but it lacks the attention to detail that a hotel of this price commands.

Housekeeping didn't arrive one day until 5:30pm, lifts didn't work and their was no access to stairs, the tv didn't work initially, the cleaning wasn't as thorough as it should have been and newspapers had to be requested three times before they were delivered.

This is a hotel that has lost some of its polish, but good if you don't mind that stuff.

A big disappointment among all the hotels that we stayed in NZ. Rooms were smaller than a small garage. Turning around meant knocking something off. The only good thing about this hotel was the location. Auckland downtown is a 5 min steep walk away. Valet parking is $28 a night which sucked bad. And yes they have wifi. We booked this hotel because it was the cheapest option for us.

Checked into the hotel from 01Dec2011-04Dec2011 in room 724. Love the hotel and everything about it. Modern contemporary feel to it with complimentary wifi. I’d say it’s pretty much in downtown. Queen Street shopping is within walking distance and yet the hotel is in a quiet neighborhood. The only thing is it’s on a hill so walking back would be a climb.
The front desk staff who checked us in was very friendly, helpful and is knowledgeable of her surrounding and attractions in town. Kudos to her, wish I got the name though.
It’s pretty much a hotel apartment so there’s a little kitchenette/stove in our room for cooking and yes there’s plates & everything else in the room including a dishwasher but there’s no washer & dryer in a studio room. There’s an exercise room but the walk itself is a workout, a nice little bar & restaurant. Wifi is pretty slow

I stayed here for two nights in one of the studio rooms with a kitchenette, which was nice and fully functioning. What drew me to this hotel over others in Auckland was that the rooms had a balcony, however, I wish i'd stayed elsewhere! The 'balcony' was tiny and overlooked a very noisy loading bay for another hotel I think - I wouldn't have dreamed of sitting out on it! The bathroom is also tiny, which is a shame.

On check-in, staff weren't particlarly friendly and seemed to be put out when I asked for directions to the attractions! The location is good though, a short walk to the main shopping street in Auckland, but is far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the city centre. I had read about the 'steep' climb back to the hotel - it is very steep!!

I probably would not stay here again, but it was ok.

Room Tip: Ask to stay as high as possible!
