“Old but Excellent”

This place has been going for so long, it is well known for the Pizzas of Auckland, can eat in or Take out....Easy drive from Downtown with free parking, I have been many times and I keep going back, To go by bus you need to use a Onehunga service and ask to be put off at Greenwoods corner....pays to book if eating in....family operated...if you love Pizza go here.

“Excellent Italian food”
Reviewed 10 July 2013

Loved this cute little restaurant, it has authenticity and character. I had the gnocchi and they were amazing! My husband, mum and her partner all loved their meals, hubby had the lamb and loved it (but wasn't keen on the polenta) mum had the chicken and also loved it but it was a reasonable portion for a small woman and she didn't finish it. Her partner had the eye fillet and loved it, said his was the best meal, I think it turned out to be a bit rich for him in the end though. Would have loved to have had dessert special which was a creme brulee but was quite full and the others didn't want any so didn't. Big regret!! Would love to go back next time I visit Auckland. The only downside is they didn't really offer us anything to drink other than water, I think it may have been BYO and they don't have a licence to sell it and we weren't organised enough to take anything (plus I was pregnant so didn't push the fact!)

“Bosco Verde, Italian Restaurant, Greenwoods corner, Auckland”
Reviewed 24 June 2013

This great cosy, warm and comfortable restaurant has a great atmosphere, great food, great prices, BYO, have eaten here several times and will keep going back. Menus fabulous, and to crown it all are the fabulous garlic, herb and wonderfully enticing smells from the kitchen which waft through the whole place, (Garlic bread to die for). The staff and chef are all so very very nice, and give a great service, I have no complaints. Just go there and enjoy the beautifully cooked Italian food. I Just love it, so will you.

“Great Meal”
Reviewed 4 April 2013

Great dinner. Had the house specialty Lasagne Casa Nostra, was great but could have had more meat in the layers but the flavours were great and the pasta was delicate and tasty.
My partner had the Pescatore (Seafood Pizza) which was great lots of seafood (large prawns, squid, baby octopus, mussels) with a nice crispy base and capped off by a vibrant pesto.
All in all a great meal. It is a byo only restaurant so if you want a glass of wine or a beer with dinner you need to bring it yourself (but at least you know it will be what you want)

“AUTHENTIC!”
Reviewed 11 July 2012

I love restaurants that are small, not very attractive from the outside and extremely UNpretentious. they shuffle you in to a table that would be at home in an airport lounge. Then the service starts. subtle, unassuming, wait staff- extremely knowledgable no umms or aaahs. they tell you all the specials and have personal comments on each. They are not pushy but extremely helpful. the menu is concise but still offers variety. The music soothes, the wine flows and then the food arrives and blows your mind. Flavour, simplicity, quality all blend into an amazing dining experience. This place is the hallowed ground that most italian wannabes aspire to!
