Our most recent visit, on 19 November, was in line with all our experiences at Dragonboat - very enjoyable and very tasty.
It's nice that even at night you can get some dimsum appetisers that don't taste stale. There is a large range of dishes of various Chinese cuisine types, and a pretty good wine list for a Chinese restaurant.
Wouldn't really suggest the Satay dishes as they don't taste anything like the Satay style (peanut-based) you would get at a Malaysian or Indonesian eatery, so stick to the Cantonese and traditional Chinese dishes if you can. Peking Duck is good, we enjoyed the Phoenix nest seafood dish, and other dishes we've ordered over the years have never disappointed.
I think the service at Dragonboat has been superior to any other Chinese restaurant I have been to in Auckland so clearly the staff are well trained and high quality.
Well certainly be back. This is authentic Chinese food but it is not too challenging for the Kiwi palate - if you've never eaten Chinese except for fish & chip shop takeaways, this is a really good place to start the journey!
