“Don't see the appeal”
Reviewed 6 July 2014

We're staying a a nearby hotel from this street, and after readi the reviews thought we'd check it out. It's just a long street full of kebab shops and takeaways. People sleeping rough and sleezy strip clubs lining the steets. No real appeal and didn't feel very safe walking at night down here

“Eclectic :)”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

K-Road has an eclectic array of shops, restaurants, and bars/clubs. It's great for people watching, strolling, and window shopping - especially on a warm, sunny day.

“Great vintage shopping and street art”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

K Road is definitely a mishmash of cultures and shops. The Queen Street end of the road is much more developed and features a lot of vintage and retro stores and secondhand clothing shops - check out St Kevins Arcade!
The All Fresco street art festival is well worth a visit, you can go and watch a selection of artists painting walls around the K Road area, a map is available on their website.

“Eclectic”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

We were staying at a hotel just round the corner from Karaghape Road during our stay in Auckland and we took buses from here to the Ferry and to Ponsonby. Our initial impression, seeing people sleeping rough and another going through waste bins was one of dismay. However, in the afternoon we found St Kevin's Arcade, a real 1920s gem, and were able to look up at the buildings - realising what a fashionable place this must have been. In the evening there are a number of eating places and whilst they may not be to my taste, I can see the appeal. My main tip - watch you money and bags.
