Rocked up to this Motor Lodge on Thursday 11th October 5.30ish as we arrived in Gisborne a day earlier than expected - got a room with no fuss. Had a great nights sleep and our breakfast arrived as requested. Lovely dog too ... recommend this place to all - lovely. We stayed up the coast at Tolaga Bay for three nights and I had left my jacket behind. We were back in Gizzy for the rugby on Saturday and called in because I couldnt remember where I had left it - it was waiting there - thanks heaps, much appreciated. cheers Andrea

Room Tip: Our unit was quiet - number 15 at the back of the property.

I've been staying a night at the Palm Court every couple of months or so for three years now, and have always found Yvonne (and hubby!) to be fantastic hosts. Rooms are spacious, clean and tidy, and the complex is nice and quiet (I always seem to get a good night's sleep, which is unusual for me when staying in motels).
I would happily stay here with family, and intend to do so one day!

I stayed here in April for two nights on business & totally enjoyed my time there. I was on my own, and even though I didn't request it, Yvonne put me in the room closest to their office & residence. (very thoughtful)The room was spotlessly clean, well equipped with all the usual suspects tea, coffee, biscuits, towels and face cloths. Face cloths, you ask? Yes, so many motels just don't give you any face cloths or only one to share between two people. It's worth mentioning the large parking area that allowed for easy maneuvering of the large van I was driving at the time. I will stay here again next time I'm in Gisborne.

We were a group of 10 with 8 motorbikes and had stayed here 6 years ago on another bike trip. Once again, our lovely hosts offered their garage for us to put all the motorbikes in which was most appreciated. The rooms are a good size, comfortable and well appointed with good sized bathrooms. All very clean. Although there is a restaurant/bar just up the road you are better to get a taxi into town - not a long trip but too far to walk comfortably.

We were just staying for one night in Gisborne and wanted somewhere with cooking facilities, which only the bigger units in this motel have. The smaller studios only have a microwave.
We opted for the bigger unit and it is very nice, with a large bathroom with large spa bath and a separate bedroom.
Comfy armchairs, dining table, cooking facilities and as said before flat screen telly.
Lovely gardens in front of the units and some behind as well.
The welcome was very friendly and e were shown the various rooms we could have, no pressure at all.
Perfect place for what we wanted. Not too far to walk from a bar, cafe place either.

We discovered (to our delight) B-k's palm court whilst on our travels up to the north island.
The accommodation was first class as where our hosts. We were made to feel very welcome and comfortable. All we needed was provided with a friendly smile and more help then we ever expected. We were only staying in New Zealand for 11 nights, 3 of which we spent at BK's! What a great place to spend time,10 minute walk to the beautiful city of Gisborne where you wont be lost for things to do or just do some great shopping.
We really can't say enough! We do hope to return in the not so distant future and BK's will be top of our list for best places to stay. Thank you for holiday we will never forget and your amazing hospitality!
