What a great quirky little place. We had breakfast on both days of our visit to Gisborne last weekend. I call it quirky as the building facade is painted with shutters at the windows complete with flower boxes. An older piano sits outside with the large potted plants. The cabinet food appears so fresh - they have a large kitchen to the side where you can see food being prepared. The table menu is fairly comprehensive for breakfast and includes fish and steak meals. We ordered eggs on both days and were surprised that 3 eggs were served on our choice of toast bread along with grilled tomatoes and mushrooms - with average price although large portions which pleased my partner!! We did see families with substantial orders and it all looked so good - rather large helpings all around. There is a licensed cafe on the main street side which we didn't visit but will make a point to do so next time we visit.
We received a warm welcome from the staff particularly 'Kendra' who took our order at the counter both days - she was friendly with everyone who came in. Great food and great service. Thank you.
