“Breaskfast at the Verve”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 March 2014

Had breaskfast here with my grandson who ordered their beautiful bacon and pancake breakfast. It was gone in seconds then mine started looking interesting to him as well!
The Verve is situated in the heart of Gladstone Road and is quite a busy place even at this time of the day. The decor is quaint and comfortable and the staff are friendly.

“terrible service”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 February 2014

waited for over half an hour for food. went with a group of 5 people. 3 people got their food at different times but not the last 2. asked if i could have a refund because everyone else had eaten. they said the food was on the plate so i could have it takeaway. 15 minutes later they brought it out. took a long time to get from the plate to a bag, clearly it wasn't on the plate. the staff were very very rude. threw the knives and forks on the table and seemed to be much nicer to the locals than our group who was clearly from out of town. terrible service felt very unwelcome. will never go back.

“Don't seem to want to cook food.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2014

Went for lunch with a group of 4, it was not too busy. After ordering some cooked food (Eggs Benedict) we waited half an hour then asked about our food which had not arrived. The waitress checked and said it would be ready in '5 minutes' - it appears the order had been forgotten. 15 minutes later we checked again, and it appeared they hadn't even started cooking it. In the end we walked out after getting a refund, and went to a cafe around the corner.
My first time in years walking out of a cafe.

“Terrible”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 December 2013

Me and my boyfriend ordered a big grill/breakfast and a soy cappuccino. The coffee's cream was lumpy and tasted funny, which is what happens when you overheat the milk. I told the waitress and she brought me another coffee that tasted and looked exactly like the first one which pretty much tells me that they just can't make coffee. The rest arrived after about 45 minutes and was just as terrible. Frozen hash browns, the sausages looked about two days old, the toasted bread had gone cold and the scrambled egg was runny. Just messy. Considering that I payed 30+ dollars, I'm not impressed.
