Hamilton Gardens is worth spending a few hours exploring. With ample car parking and a good information desk we arrived just in time for the 2:30 river cruise.
After that around 4pm we took some time to explore the styled gardens such as Japanese, Chinese, English, Maori and Indian gardens.
The other areas were very well manicured even for winter. There was a whole other side of the park which we did not get to visit but maybe next time we are in New Zealand.
It was the highlight of Hamilton as I didn't think much of the inner city and this certainly makes the area worth visiting.
