This a beautiful place to stay. Beautiful home in a wonderful setting. Dianna and Charlie are warm and friendly people. Really good food too. You just have to go and try it out! We would definately go there again.

My husband and I recently stayed at Shailers B & B and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.....it was fabulous!!! Dianna and Charlie were great hosts and there was nothing that they would not do to make our stay a memorable one. The room was fabulous and our 'private' patio was really nice. Much attention to detail was evident, but most of all, both Dianna and Charlie and Mary made us feel very much at home. The food was fabulous and we would both recomment that you have a dinner there 'al fresco'. The presentation was 'picture perfect' but it tasted even better then it looked!! Thank you. We would certainly recommend it to our friends and we hope to stay there again for a longer stay.

Room Tip: A room with a private patio is fabulous.

How lovely to hear from you.....and receive such a generous review! It was a pleasure to host you both. We are grateful you could fit one night of your travels around New Zealand, to stay at Shailers and dine in. We appreciate there are many places to visit and a lot of distance to cover (though not as much as in Canada!) So thank you for choosing to stay with us. All the best for 2012. Cheers Charlie and Dianna

Shailers was the best place we stayed on our trip to NZ. We stayed for 4 nights at the end of November 2011. Dianna and Charlie were just the right amount of involved. They were fun to talk to, but also did not hover like we encountered at some other bed and breakfasts. Dianna is an amazing cook! We ended up eating breakfast and dinner there everyday. Breakfast was so filling that we ended up only eating 2 meals a day. The farm tour was a lot fun since we got to learn about the dairy farm industry and ride 4 wheelers around the farm.

Charlie & Dianna will welcome you and bid you farewell, while giving you your space and privacy. A lovely house on top of a little hill, it's 10min from the larger town of Hamilton, and 40min away from the Waitomo Caves. Dianne is a wonderful cook, and both have awesome farm and NZ knowledge.

I wasn't able to do the farm tour, but if I make it back, I'll definitely do it. When I left I felt like I had 2 friends I can come and visit again.

PS. Hope you had a great Birthday Dianna, and wishing you a Happy New Yeart!

Room Tip: I stayed in the smaller one. Bathroom was adjacent to the room, and it was very modern. Room had no...

Hi Nadja
Thank you for the generous review. We really enjoyed meeting you and sharing our home with you. I had a wonderful birthday, celebrating a birthday brunch with family and dined out for dinner so very spoiled. We hope you have the opportunity to come again. Meanwhile all the best for 2012. Shailers is a family farm full or warmth and love. they treat you like they have known you for years and go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

i was travelling with my mother and they asked if we wanted another bed in the room. unlike most places it was not some fold out bed where the springs poke you in the back all night but a comfortable and warm real single bed. had an extremely comfortable stay and could have slept for hour.

Dinner and breakfast was delicious ! 10/10 would defiantly recommend to eat there.

Could not say a bad word about it!!!!! would have loved to stay longer
