“Chiefs v stormers”
Reviewed 31 May 2014

Great night out and enjoyable rugby. Easy access to boot. The food was extremely disappointing. All deep fried and far from appealing. I wish they had some healthy options but alas not. You're not able to take your own food and drink but to only have doughnuts steak sandwiches hotdogs and chips is poor. :((

“Have warmed to the Stadium as a venue”
Reviewed 19 April 2014

I wasn't a fan of this development. It cost the community a fortune and ratepayers and renters (people who really pay landlords' rates) will never get the debt monkey off their backs. But, it is a very good oval ( rugby and rugby league) ground. That doesn't make rugby any more interesting. A game at Waikato Stadium is just as tedious as one elsewhere with endless penalties and countless wasted minutes while scrums are reset. But you can see the frustration on players' faces almost as well as you can on tv. Rugby League, a much much better game, is a joy to watch here as one is so close to the action. The catering is terrible, dominated by a well-connected local company that seems to make little effort to serve anything other than deep fried rubbish and associated junk food. Facilities in main stand are good. Location is close to city. Buses to and from transport centre are ok, but often games finish after local public transport has ended. A real disconnect that sums up the Hamilton City Council's own disconnect with citizens.

“Top Sporting Venue”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

No doubt one of the very best sporting venues in the country for sports such as Rugby or League because spectators have great visibility of the griund & are all close to the action . The surface is also top class for players .

“Great place to watch the Chiefs win!”
Reviewed 16 March 2014

It's small (max 30,000 people), intimate, comfortable. We were in the covered seats, though, and there was quite a bit of wind. Most of the stadium is uncovered--good to know if rain is in the forecast.

“Easy access”
Reviewed 7 March 2014

Very modern and well laid out, it was full when we went and getting in and out was very easy. The usual fast food and beer outlets were well organised to handle large volumes of people in a short time.
