“Lovely room and spa bath”
Reviewed 18 May 2012

We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and the bed was super comfy, spa bath was amazing and standards in the room were great. Only comments would be no newspaper offered on check-in and when opening the door the next morning there was not one there. Ordered breakfast by room service and asked for a paper to be brought up but was told they were only at Reception and I would have to go there - as I was still in my pj's this was not an option! Also being pregnant I asked for help with my bag as my husband was working and I was pointed to the lift although there was a man only metres away cleaning out the head of a vacuum cleaner - still had to get the suitcase out of the vehicle and into the lift. These little touches and going the extra mile would have made an average experience a very good one.

Room Tip: Rooms can be noisy with trucks along the main road - parking also a challenge, we had to park on the...

A newspaper is available on request at any time during your stay. Due to our commitment to an environmental policy newspapers are not automatically delivered to every room. Although we recycle this serves to avoid any unnecessary waste. A newspaper most certainly should have been delivered once requested.

A lift is available for transporting luggage to the upper levels as indicated to guests upon check in. We were most remiss in realising that you required help with your suitcase from the car, not to the room.

We sincerely apologise for your experience being marred by inattentive service.

We are pleased that you enjoyed the room and hope to see you on another occasion.

A typical motel. Got a corner apartment with a great view over the ocean. Easy for walking into town to look round and also for walking along the seafront. Well equipped kitchenette and good bathroom - laundry facilities were in a laundry room elsewhere on site.

Room Tip: Get a room with a sea view.

Modern motel type hotel, we had a ground floor apartment, modern decor and fittings, good beds.
Lovely view over Marine Parade to the sea, spectacular sunrise. Poor Wireless, poor shower rose water pressure and gas hot water serves 3 units and takes an age to warm up and runs hot and cold (massive spa bath implies no limit on hot water)

Room Tip: Ring and ask for a better rate.

Having seen this hotel featured on a number of voucher deal sites, we decided to give it a whirl on a trip to Napier. Although there was no voucher deal at the time, we got a good rate through a hotel booking website. Our executive suite was beautifully furnished, with a large TV in the living area and a smaller one in the bedroom. The spa bath in the bedroom was massive and there was also a good shower in the ensuite bathroom. The hotel thoughtfully provided towels at the spa bath and also in the ensuite bathroom, so guests could enjoy dry towels for their morning shower as well.

The reception staff at check-in and departure were friendly, helpful and efficient, and the breakfast in the hotel's restaurant was generous. All in all, we greatly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to go back if returning to Napier.

Just perfect, no complaints what so ever.
We enjoyed a peaceful sleep after a hot spa, which was less than a metre from the very comfy king size bed, we watched the rugby on the big screen, while soaking away the weeks tensions. Pure luxury!! Stunning view, prime location. Clean, fresh, modern room.
Staff welcoming and gave helpful advise on local activities to fill our weekend with.

We didn't book but arrived late afternoon on a cold wet day and were offered a top floor room for 135 n.z. dollars which was good value. The girl on reception was pleasant and friendly and this encouraged us to stay. We had also gone to the apts. next door which were lovely but not offering such a good deal. Our room was large with a king bed, a settee and chairs ,kitchen area and a big spa bath . There was also a separate shower room and w.c. Everything was clean and comfortable and we had a good view of the sea which was spectacularly rough and great to watch from the comfort of our room. It was a short walk to shops and restaurants however the bad weather prevented us from walking too far and we did spend more time than usual in the room. There was free car parking but the best places were on a first come first served basis. We enjoyed staying here for two nights and slept with the windows slightly open. Despite being near the road we were not disturbed by traffic noise only the sound of the sea.

Room Tip: Higher floor gives better view and less road noise but remember all the stairs to carry up the suitc...

This was the second time we have stayed at this motel. The location is very good with town only a short walk away. The views out over the sea are great. We found the staff very helpful. Parking is a bit tight in places. The room was spacious, spotless a comfortable bed and had a large round spa bath in the room. The step to get into the bath was a bit wide for those with short legs! Free internet would have been nice. We will stay here again.
