the lady in the reception was lovely and very helpful re what to do and see. The unit was lovely and right opposite the marine parade, so you could hear the sea. Very central and could walk everywhere. Thought it was a reasonable price for being on the marine parade. And you got a little gift basket on arrival, which was a lovely personal touch (& I havent even booked to go there!!).

A wonderful motel right on the water in beautiful Napier. In spite of the fact that Booking.com had lost our reservation, the owner arranged to give all three couples spacious upstairs ocean view rooms at the Booking.com rate (US$152) . The rooms were clean, with all the amenities, including a woderful English breakfast delivered to our room. Would definitely stay there again.

Did a drive by and saw the sign "Special Rate Today" and went in. I had a room with a spa overlooking the sea which was lovely. I had to pay upfront which I was happy to do but to have to pay $100.00 cash on top of that for a bond I felt was over the top.I usually pay a $50.00 bond which I'm happy to do.The staff weren't very friendly. The room had to be checked out before I left so I could get the bond money back. The shower door was hard to open. When i got home I checked in the AA Accommodation book and the rate was the same. I certainly won't be recommending this motel to anybody and I wouldn't stay there again.

This motel offers good winter deals for as little as $99 a night for rooms with big spa baths. The rooms have separate living rooms and bedrooms and a reasonably equipped kitchen. All in all they are great value in the winter deal.

Pros
-great location on the sea front and just 2 minutes walk from the centre of Napier
-spa :) and a big one at that, plenty big enough for 2 to stretch out
-quiet ad comfortable sleep
-welcoming host

Cons
-dated decor in the room I stayed in did detract a little, if you don't like dark green then don't stay here! Also there were a few chips and general damage to the paint work.
-questionable safety getting into and out of the spa. You need to be a gymnast or a giraffe to step easily from the floor into the spa and there aren't any hand rails to assist. Just be careful not to slip.

Room Tip: It's an extra $21 on the winter deal to have a sea view

just got back from two lovely relaxing days in Napier. We had an upstairs room with a balcony and view of the ocean. The in room spa was great and you can watch tv while relaxing in it. the king size bed was so comfy. A really nice touch was the welcome basket. This had cheese and crackers, chocolate and a fruit juice. A really nice touch that you dont get in other places. Witin walking distance to evrything and nice and quiet.
