One of the places in New Zealand where I always feel at home because of the friendly staff.
Ok situated at the edge of the artdeco part of town
Rooms simple and useful and clean.
Nothing special, really, and the staff...! So nice and welcoming and easy to deal with !

Oh how disappointing! Having travelled down from the Bay of Islands, Auckland, Rotorua and Taupo we stayed in Napier and the very disappointing Quest Guest House. We are really not sure why the travel agent located us here when all other hotels we stayed at were so vastly better. This place had no dining facilities, the breakfast was a gift box delivered the night before, the place was noisy with few/no facilities and we had to pay for car parking and the internet. Ok the room was clean and spacious but the facilities were just so extremely limited and how it can be described as 4 star is beyond belief.no pool, gym, gardens, dining area, bar, nothing! This for us was more a bad selection by the travel agent as for back packers on a limited budget this may be acceptable but for us it was simply not suitable with nothing to offer.

Room Tip: Be careful, this is not a hotel but a guest house with very few facilities.

No complaints about this place, they offer free parking, free laundry and free coffee. Rooms were modern and clean. Odd set up with portable a/c (guests need to route the exhaust tube through the window). Fully equipped kitchenette and comfy bed. Staff was helpful and friendly.

The apartment was clean and tidy and in a great location. The water pressure was great (which I found rare in NZ) and the hairdryer was good. On the downside there is no central air conditioning. There is a portable air conditioning unit in the room but it's too noisy to leave on while sleeping so the room becomes hot and stuffy. The TV was tiny and the towels were a bit on the worn side. There was no laundry in the apartment and the guest laundry was awful - one look was enough to convince me no to use it. There is a $12 a day charge for parking under the building but you can park in the council car park next door for $4 a day or free on Sunday and after 2pm Saturday.

Stayed here for a couple of days and found this place to be as the title says, basic but nice! Rooms were adequate and well appointed - with comfortable beds, nice and fresh bathrooms. The only minor issues was the floor boards tend to make a bit of a sound so it could be an issue if you're sensitive to noise, but not for me. The owners are very friendly always eager to share recommendations etc. Would recommend this place if you're after a comfortable stay with reasonable prices.

Stayed here for the 3rd or 4th time while in Napier to watch International Cricket ( Rained Off!)
As usual the welcome was warm and the room spotless and well equipped.
I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment to anyone visiting Napier as it is well placed for everything on offer. Go for it!

Room Tip: Rooms on 7th floor are quiet with views.

In 2013 I was staying at Quest Apartments in Napier for a total of 3.5 Months (June until end of August and first half of October) while I was on a work assignment in Napier.

I was staying in a Studio Apartment during that time. The room was always spotless and is furnished with everything you need, including TV, fan, heater, fully equipped kitchenette, fridge, stove, dish washer, etc.
The bed was very comfortable - I never had a bad night!

The facilities I've used included were the secure car park, laundry and the reading room with its own coffee machine,

The Quest is located in downtown Napier where many good places to eat, drink and shop are located within walking distance (5 to 10 minutes max.).

Finally, you will not find a friendlier, capable or more helpful staff in the Hawke's Bay Region than at the Quest. Ruben, Fiona and their team made me feel like staying at home during my assignment, which personally I value a lot!

There is no doubt that I will stay again at the Quest the next time I'm traveling to Napier.
