Modern accommodation near the seashore in a beach area near Napier provides an excellent base to explore the area. Front desk very helpful. Beds comfortable and near many small restaurants. Room was quiet for sleeping. Get directions or don't arrive in the dark. It is not in downtown Napier. I would recommend staying here.

You may arrive and think this place looks unattractive from the outside, but don't be fooled. It's a very well appointed, modern, spacious hotel which we really enjoyed. Close to the seafront and bars/ restaurants, it is a little way out of Napier town centre. Staff here are knowledgeable and friendly, all in all a great value hotel!

Hi trinketgirl
Thank you for for taking the time to write a review. Yes, the reception is off the back street which is a little disorienting. This is because our rooms are on the ocean side of the property so that our guests get to enjoy the fabulous views of the water and boardwalk across the road! I am pleased to see you enjoyed your stay.
Thanks again
Kylie

We arrived in Napier after a VERY long drive from Rotorua. It's a bit difficult to write a real review of this place as we truly used it as a spot to sleep before moving on to our next location. (We arrived too late to do the things we hoped to do thanks to some terrible rain and wind which made travel time much longer than it should have been). That said, it was clean and well appointed, the staff member at the front desk was there both when we checked in and out and he was very pleasant and informative. I think Napier would be a great spot to visit on one a sunny day but during a torrential rain storm we definitely did not get to experience all that it had to offer.

Thank you Jill for your review. We are pleased that the property was in your words clean and well appointed, shame about the weather! Just a comment - thought the review rating was a little underwhelming noting that there were not any negatives noted in the comments given. Thank you for your feedback.

We stayed in a family apartment on 17 April 2014. The accommodation was superb, exceptionally well appointed, spacious and clean. The decor is modern and sophisticated and the room which we stayed in (201) was very quiet, even though the city was in the midst of a storm. I would highly recommend staying here and would definitely return on my next trip to the Bay.

Stayed in a 'Beachfront Super King' room for 2 nights. The large room was on the third floor and had great views of the beach and bay. The decor in the room was very modern, it was very clean and had a light and airy feel. The kitchen, although small, was functional but did not have a hob. Very nice bathroom with walk-in shower. Underground parking available below the building.

Navigate is actually in Ahuriri just north of the main centre of Napier. It's a quick drive into Napier or a steady 20 to 30 minute walk along the esplanade and past the docks.

There are plenty of places to eat close by, would recommend '3 Doors Up' which is also in Waghorne Street.

Would recommend a stay here.

We were at the Navigate just the day before the start of Art Deco weekend. It was fun to see the old cars coming into town and some of the guests in the hotel and restaurants were dressed up. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. The waterfront walks gave us the best sunset pictures of the 30 day trip. I would recommend this accommodation highly and thank them for an enjoyable stay. Big bonus was a good washing machine FREE next to the garage.
